Mechanisms of Salvation - Seth Hix

Mechanisms of Salvation: A glimpse into the mechanical foundation of Christianity

    FOREWORD:

The first two sections deal with laying a foundation to build the third section. These first two can be a little slower than I’d like, but that’s only so I can run through the third at a pace that keeps everything together and in order.

I want to thank my wife, for bravely corralling our wonderful children while I hid away to write.

    Introduction:

In order for this book to make sense and function as it should, you should treat two statements as axiomatic, even if you don't believe them. Taking this approach offers the clearest view of the underlying mechanisms in the Bible, which in turn allows a glimpse at the mind behind it all. Whether you believe it is a series of unconnected men, frantically scribbling rules and stories down to save their society, or a higher dimensional being giving the flawed creations of his the best possible chance forward, it's completely up to you. Obviously my preference is easy to suss out, but ultimately, one does not need faith to enjoy the intricacies laid bare in this very short book.

First axiom: God is alive. He is a living being.

What do I mean by God is alive? Simple, I mean God is a tangible being. He is not some ethereal idea floating out in an interdimensional sea, surrounded by ghosts and naked harp playing babies. No, God, as a physical being, exists on a higher dimensional plane, one we could access if we had the correctly formed bodies (a point I will reiterate far more than I probably should, but it's an important fact that far too many Christians fail to realize. The point of salvation is not to get rid of our physical bodies). This concept can seem far-fetched or difficult to understand, so let’s dive a little deeper.

Be it through cell phones or archaic television screens, most of us, if not all of us, have played a side scrolling, or top down, game. Whether it be on early consoles saving princesses from evil overlords, off road vehicles, or adventurers off to save the world, most of us have experienced this lower dimensional space. As entertaining as it often is, let me pose a question: How would you fit inside it?

If you took a piece of paper, which is two dimensional enough for this conversation, how would you interact with it? Could you build a home within the two dimensions? No. If you were a skilled enough artist, you could illustrate a convincing enough lie to force perspective, but there is no way you could fit your three dimensional body into the confines of that sheet of paper, no more than you could reach into the screen to catch your falling dinosaur-esk comrade when you don’t quite make the
