How do you interpret the above image? What do you see? What do you feel it is? What do you think it says that it is one of the orbs in the above opening photo? Do you see the geometric patterns? The light & colors radiating from its edges? How do you interpret what an orb is? Have you heard of the long history of spirit photography since the invention of cameras? Experimental physicist, Dr. Klaus Heinemann & his research partner Míċeál Ledwidth have demonstrated that orbs are spirit emanations in a work called The Orb Project. I have been getting spirit orbs on film since 2007 with repeatability, especially starting in 2011 to the present. Orb photographers, Virginia Hummel & Nancy Myers also get orbs on film regularly. A truly open mind & heart are needed to learn more about this modern spirit phenomenon. It is my hope anyone reading this work will enjoy it fully with open arms, especially the futurists! Dante & Sir Winston Churchhill used to hold & attend many séances. So have Nobel Prize winners & scientists. Orbs & séance are connected in many ways, especially currently.

In 2019, TIME magazine named Shannon Taggart’s book of photos Séance one of the top photography books of the year. In it, Taggart documents real séances with physical & mental mediums using stunning photography, which in the past had been a more rare & difficult thing to document & capture on film, especially ectoplasm. I am a practicing mental & trance medium (physical medium in training), so I understand what's possible which transcends the known established laws of nature. In a talk about her work in 2021, Taggart notes, "There has been a queasiness concerning spiritualism. But however uncomfortable, it is undeniable that spiritualism stands at the crossroads of modern culture. It’s influence echoes & brings together histories of science, medicine, technology & art.
