    PREFACE

This booklet was written for the sole purpose of teaching people about Helen Steiner Rice. It was originally composed to be published in a Lorain area newspaper, but that did not happen. Permission is granted by the author to use this text for educational purposes. I suggest that you give your students/audience the 20 question pre-test to see how much they may already know about Mrs. Rice and her legacy before you teach or speak. After reading or teaching the three articles, the educator may wish to give the same twenty-question quiz as a post-test. Please cite the author’s name and source when using these articles.. It is hoped these stories will be used as a springboard for further relevant and inspirational studies and celebrations of Helen, her life journey, her God-given gift for poetry, for loving those all souls who were substantial relationships throughout her life, and for her extraordinary degree of faith in Her (and Our) Creator.
