About this ebook
Clodio was still dumbfounded during the wedding as his natural father exchanged vows with his new stepmother. She seemed very nice but he didn't know what to make of his two step sisters, who seemed radically different from each other. Either which way, they were going to be his new family and he was wil

About the Author
Introduction
This book will show you how you can keep the memory of your loved ones alive. It will also show you how you still can learn to love and live again. Clodio is like many other boys and girls, who have experienced loss and still learned how to value the gift of life. Through his new family, he found unexpected joy in his new mother, Nephalie. He even found a way to bond with his sisters, Wyndella and Kosma. It wasn’t always easy, but step-by-step, Clodio climbed every obstacle. He continued until he found lasting love in his new family. Just when he thought it couldn’t be done, he found the courage to press on, from the encouragement of his dedicated friends, Pascal, Amir, Jung-Lee, and Mik oloj.
You can still find the possibilities of togetherness, by embracing your past and your future. Clodio’s dad shows us how easily this can be done, by always lending an empathetic ear and some kind, supportive words. He represents the epitome of what fatherhood is. Anyone and everyone, would be very lucky to find a family like Clodio’s. This book also illustrates the genuine love that his father, aunts, and uncles have for him.
In the corner of this room, Clodio writes in his journal. He keeps track of his life’s disappointments and victories to remind himself how he grows every day. He also does this as a way to celebrate and embrace life. In his little corner, a new page is turned into a trilogy, as he gazes at the stars and writes. Life, love, friendship, sadness, insecurities, happiness, and triumph are all a pen stroke away in Clodio’s corner.

Clink! Clink! Clink! Everyone took their forks and started tapping on their wine glasses, which were on their tables. Meanwhile, the orchestra played some very festive, upbeat German folk songs. The lively accordions played and excited the crowd. It was 2014, and the August haze melted the frosted, sculpted ice. This mystic scene captured my attention, and I was in total awe of everything. My trance of the beautiful ice was quickly broken from all the joyful shouts and scr eams.
Kiss the bride! Kiss the bride! Kiss the bride! Yaaaaaaaaay!
Everyone demanded for dad to kiss my new mom. Wow…my new mom! It sounds strange just to say it, but it was true. There we were…in the middle of the reception hall…and dad took Nephalie with one big swoop in his arms, arched her backwards, and gave her the most comical kiss anyone ever saw. The whole reception hall went berserk! There were roars of shouts, cheers, and clapping, that echoed throughout the place.
My aunt and uncle stood up and made an even bigger commotion. Uncle Kelby and Aunt Nadja were the black sheep of the family. They were more unconventional than the rest of my
nonchalant relatives. Uncle Kelby was my dad’s youngest brother and was always full of energy and excitement. He was always trying to keep up with Aunt Nadja, who was even more energetic. I don’t think they were even thirty years old yet. The funny thing was, I don’t think they were in a rush to reach thirty!
Anyway, Uncle Kelby really stood out from all of the other guests. There he was in his sleek, black blazer, ruffled shirt with large cuffs, studded pants, polished shoes, retro sunglasses, and his slicked-back Mohawk.
Aunt Nadja was just as eccentric. She had on one of those emerald-green dresses with shimmery fringes and some silver shoes. If that wasn’t enough for you, she also wore larger-than-life sunglasses, decorated with crystals and green streaks in her black hair. They were quite a pair compared to the rest of the family.
Uncle Kelby waved his fist in the air and cheered, Yes, Sigwald! That’s how you do it!
Aunt Nadja jumped up and down and yelled, Hurraaaaaay for Siggy and Nephalie!
Everyone nearly died with laughter, except Nephalie. She was overwhelmed with embarrassment. She likes talking to people, but she was intimidated by crowds. Nephalie chuckled out of disbelief, and her whole face exuded a pinkish glow, because of the crowd’s persistent cheers and laughter. It didn’t matter, though, she was still a very happy bride.
The orchestra continued to fill the air with its nostalgic music. There was something faintly familiar about these lighthearted tunes. The jovial melody took you far away to the enchanted city of Hamburg. Even if you’ve never been there before, you could actually visualize some of the colonial buildings, cobble stone streets, and carriages, as the accordions played.
Yep! Today was the big day, and my best friends from school were there to share that moment with me. It was August…we were dressed in our freshly-pressed suits, and my friends and I ate like a bunch of princes for the night. We laughed and enjoyed smoked salmon, gourmet potatoes, raw cabbage with cucumber dressing, borscht, and artesian bread with garlic butter. All was well. Then…without warning…everything froze.
The reality hit! Pascal, Amir, and I were only 13-years-old, and we had just one more year left to survive junior high school. September was right around the corner, and we would soon transform from princes back into regular students without any damsels to rescue. We would all be too busy grappling different ways to escape eighth grade with our diplomas and futures in our hands. Without a doubt, we would be too busy to even think about romance!
As we sat at our table, my friends decided to take this time to find out more about my new family.
Hey, Clodio. Do you know much about your new sisters?
asked Amir.
Well, I’ve met them a few times, but most of what I learned was from Nephalie.
Well, don’t just sit there. Tell us a little about them. At least we could get an idea,
suggested Pascal.
Alright. Well, you see Kosma?
No. Where is she?
asked Amir.
Look. She the one with the straight, blond hair. See? She’s the one that has that silver clip in her hair that reaches her shoulders.
Oh, okay. Well, what is she like, Clodio?
asked Pascal.
Well, Kosma is about 14-years-old and really outgoing. She is into a lot of different activities like track, chorus, and volleyball.
Well, that sounds okay. Is there anything else that we should know about her?
asked Amir curiously.
Well, from how Nephalie explained it to me, Kosma likes to socialize a lot. She does her own thing. You know…like a trendsetter. She dresses nicely, but not flashy. Kosma creates her own unique style, and the kids at her school really like that about her. She’s not the type that follows the crowd, but for some strange reason, a lot of the kids really like her. You know?
That is pretty interesting. She sounds strong-minded to me,
said Pascal.
Yeah, that’s how Nephalie explained it to me too. She said that Kosma is really popular and even some of her upper classmates from the cheerleading squad and football team like her too. She jokes around so much, that her grades are slipping, though.
I guess between the track team, volleyball, and chorus, she doesn’t feel like she has to worry about her grades at all,
replied Pascal.
Yeah. She’s worried more about being popular and staying healthy.
Oh, I get it. If she is popular then all of the right doors will open for her anyway. Is that what it is?
asked Amir.
That’s what it sounds like to me, but I would have to get to know her better to know for sure.
Okay. Sounds fair enough,
said Pascal.
