hen I was growing up, every summer we were allowed to buy a new outfit – usually a T-shirt with pineapples on and always from Next or Tammy Girl. But one year, when I was 10, I tried on a sticky-out party dress in silk that I fell absolutely in love with. After much pleading, my mother gave me the choice of the dress or the new summer outfit.
