In a world not so different from this, there’s a girl who sits by herself, with slits on her wrists and burns on her hips. Her hands are shaking, palms are sweaty, as she puts the pen to the blank piece of paper and begins to write To my family
for what feels like the one hundredth time that night. But she can’t seem to find the right words to start this letter, for this would be the last one she’d ever write.
Still staring at this piece of paper for what seems like an eternity, her mind is racing with feelings and emotions. So confused, she closes her eyes and listens to the little voice inside, the voice that tells her what to write and promises to show her the light, a way for her to escape from all the pain and misery she feels, a chance to be free; but every deal comes with a price, and tonight that price is her life. She picks up the sharp blade that sits beside her bed and slowly drives it into her soft white skin and watches as her warm blood trickles down her arm, hoping in that moment she will be able to gather her thoughts, but that moment doesn’t last long.
