About the Christian Discipleship
Series
The Christian Discipleship series consists of six (6) books that aim to ground the Christian in the first steps of his Christian life. Discipleship is the process of forming followers of Jesus Christ. As such, it requires the Christian to devote himself, among other things, to learning the teachings of Jesus Christ. After all, to be a disciple is to be a learner. Thus, this series is designed to assist in teaching and learning the fundamental knowledge that a Christian must have in order to become a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.
The first book in the series, Bible Overview: Knowing the Scriptures Better, presents the general content of the Scriptures so that the follower of Jesus will be able to know the Bible better, God’s written revelation. The second book, How to Study the Bible, teaches methods and techniques that will help the reader systematically study the Scriptures to put it into practice. Disciplines for Spiritual Growth is the third book in the series and attempts to inculcate in the reader the need to practice the disciplines of Bible study, prayer, worship, fasting, fellowship, and Christian service. The fourth book, Personal Discipleship, provides some important teachings about what it means to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ. The second-to-last book in the series, Biblical Foundations, teaches the reader how to practice the seven (7) general commandments of Jesus Christ, while the last book in the series, Evangelism, focuses on one of the fundamental aspects of one of these commandments, which is to make disciples through evangelism.
None of these books were written for the purpose of exposing everything the Bible teaches about the topics they seek to teach. Likewise, they are not intended merely to convey information. The purpose of this series is to lead the reader to consider the vocation and practice of discipleship in the light of Scripture. Therefore, the reader should not read the books in this series just to get a set of good ideas about discipleship; rather, you must let God speak to your heart to teach you the biblical truths that are taught here, so that actions, attitudes, feelings, and thoughts that are contrary to God's will may be transformed so that you are daily conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Review Questions: Upon completion of the main study, complete the review questions. The purpose of this section is to help you focus on the main points of the study and prepare you for the final project. You can use both your personal notes and the main study content, as well as quoting verses to support your answers. When answers require you to use the main study, try answering them first without consulting this book. If you cannot, find the answers in the text and study these parts one more time before proceeding.
