Grand Canyon: A New Paradigm

About this ebook
Evidence supports Grand Canyon was formed 4,369 years ago. This theory is harmonious with biblical, scientific and geological evidence. This is the most inclusive explanation of how and when the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Colorado River and most of our National Parks were formed.
Most of the existing theories for how Grand Canyon was formed fall into a conventional paradigm that is based on geologic processes of erosion over an extensive period of time. The alternative theory presented in this work, labeled, The Watts Theory, is supported by evidence and provides a thorough explanation for the formation of Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. It also addresses some unanswered questions pertaining to several of the world’s other mysteries.
Development of the Watts Theory started in the year 2000 after viewing the documentary Ring of Fire. At the end of the film, the narrator stated that all the volcanoes in the western hemisphere are connected to the Ring of Fire except Yellowstone and the reason for this is unknown. Researching the reason why, resulted in the realization that both the formation of Yellowstone and Grand Canyon were somehow related. According to the Watts Theory, Grand Canyon was formed by a sequence of catastrophic events that occurred in a short span of time. Evidence supporting this theory provides some of the missing information which geologists, scientists, biblical scholars and documentary film makers have been searching for, in order to answer some of the mysteries of the world’s past.

Thanks to my parents for driving us across the United States. By the time I turned twenty one, we had traveled U.S. Route 66 from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California three times. We noticed the geological changes through each State and this is where my curiosity began.
This book builds on the research which has been conducted by United States Geological Survey (USGS), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Parks Service (NPS), geologists, astronomers, scientists, biblical scholars and documentary film makers.
The recent film documentary Is Genesis History (Purifoy, 2017) was inspiring. It raised the question: How and when was Grand Canyon formed? Questions about Yellowstone came up after viewing the film Ring of Fire (Casey, 1991). The film put forth evidence supporting the theory that volcanic activity in the western hemisphere is situated around the ring of fire with the exception of Yellowstone National Park. Thankful to friends who worked at Johnson Space Center and Area 51. Deep gratitude to the many authors of old who wrote the Book of Genesis and the Hebrew scriptures. Without these collections of historical documents, this work would not have been possible.

Introduction
Grand Canyon was formed in recent geological history.
Before presenting the details of the Watts Theory, it is important to first recognize the role of the Scientific Method as it pertains to testing and proving the category of hypotheses that those of the conventional paradigm and the alternative presented in this work, fall into. Generally, these theories all assume a possible explanation for how the landscape of Grand Canyon could have been formed. The stated hypothesis along with supporting evidence includes an assumption, e.g. if Y is uncontrovertibly true and serves as an explanation as to how X exists as it does, then since Y is true, then so must X be true.
Testing a hypothesis to explain a landscape created by geomorphic processes in the absence of a human witness to record it is problematic. With any such hypothesis, evidence supporting it would be in a body of evidence so large, it would be assumed to be a most probable explanation.
While inductive and deductive reasoning would be an appropriate approach to testing a scientific hypothesis, Watts Theory and theories derived from the conventional paradigm both employ an abductive reasoning method for drawing conclusions. Therefore, it is just as probable, to be more probable than not. The Watts Theory is an equally acceptable explanation for the existence of the Grand Canyon. In the case of the Watts Theory, the body of evidence to draw from is more inclusive than evidence previously offered by theories that fall into the conventional paradigm. Therefore it is more probable than not, Grand Canyon was formed by a sequence of natural disasters occurring over a short span of time in recent geologic and human history.
According to this alternative theory, five significant natural catastrophic events account for the formation of Grand Canyon. Some of these events may have already been recognized by other researchers, as supporting evidence for their theories. However, by examining all five events together, Grand Canyon, the Watts Theory is a more inclusive explanation. This publication will connect each one of the five events in a sequence to explain how and when Grand Canyon and Yellowstone were formed.
References to the body of evidence and websites supporting the existence of the events described in this work are included at the end of each chapter.
This new theory aligns with the Holy Bible’s book of Genesis. The Watts Theory answers the question from the documentary Is Genesis History, Was Grand Canyon formed with a lot of water in a short amount of time?
