Puppy Training For Beginners - Anna Mary
About the Book
This book is a complete and thorough guide to dog training and caring. Every dog is different, and their interaction also varies. This book teaches you about dogs' general psychological and behavioral traits and how each one can be approached. Along with that, puppy-proofing, home training, health care, and grooming are also discussed, which is mandatory in raising a dog.
This book educates the readers with insightful facts about dog training, and all the requirements for a dog are explained here. Eliminating bad behaviour is an all-time headache for owners, and the steps to terminate such behaviours are discussed in a simplified manner.
This can be used as a handbook for all the dog owners, which can provide them with all the information from buying the puppy to training them. Major doubts and confusions regarding puppy raising are also answered here, preparing the owners with enough insights to find their adorable dogs.
Introduction
The book unravels with the purpose of owning a dog; getting a dog is a major responsibility, and how we carry out our responsibility reflects on the bond between the dog and us. Sometimes we need to be told by someone with immense knowledge about its nook and corners so that we can walk without obstacles, and this is what the book is all about; a perfect guide to dog training and caring.
It reminds us about how prepared we must be to welcome our little friend home; there are a lot of criteria one has to check and undergo before getting your pet home. Many of the facts discussed here apply to other pets as well. The book gives you a systematic approach towards dog training; it is not always about click and treats. Another dimension includes psychological and behavioural aspects of a dog that is required to be understood for further interaction.
House training methods may differ from dog to dog according to their behavioural trait; there are various methods to train them, the owner can choose which method is suitable for their pet. Another dilemma people face while training is which type of training is good and gives effectual output? Every type of training has psychology behind it, and you will find them in this book. Another confusion regarding training is to mark its beginning. Dogs are social animals; they inherit characters from us; if you are a troubled owner, it will indeed reflect in your dog; in short, before blaming the dog, check yourself for better bonding.
Well, dogs will definitely show some kind of naughty behavior; seeking the reason behind them is the stepping stone to eliminating the bad behavior, and that too must be done systematically. Even their healthcare is as important as their food; minute mistakes that we make can greatly affect them; going through this book can help you grow out as a responsible owner.

My Experience with dogs
Dogs have been a part of my life since the day I was born, but I met my first pet when I was ten years old. He was a stray dog, an Indian breed, and I named him Charlie. I didn't know anything about training, but I remember he was a brilliant dog; he always recognized my voice, and we enjoyed playing fetch. I would say he made me realize the worth of time and after-effects of procrastination. Though I had many dogs before, he was the first one I bonded with since I was the sole owner of Charlie.
When I was 18, I worked in an NGO for dogs where I learned that every sound they make has a meaning, and every look they give is an expression of something they want to tell us. Working with the NGO taught me a lot about dogs and humans, including the ugly face of the human deed; many dogs were abused and tortured. Many lost their eyes and ears; some were amputated. This made me speak and do more and more for the dogs and other stray animals; I am still working on that dream.
My internship in a K9 training center gave me a new glimpse at training dogs. I was amazed to learn about the application of Maslow's experiment (reward method) in dog training. Soon after my internship, I worked in a pet caring and training home in Delhi, helping a few owners
