Self-publishing is getting common nowadays due to the low upfront costs for authors and accessibility of digital technologies and web-based publishing software. In countries like India, authors are increasingly using self-publishing tools as they are becoming more widely available in English as well as regional languages. Moreover, the platforms to sell the books that are self-published are also becoming more easily accessible and affordable.
In this book, we discuss the steps for an author to self-publish their manuscript. We go through some of the various tools and platforms currently available and how to use them. It is hoped that this book will be a useful resource for authors, including new Indian authors and those publishing in Indian languages, to know where to begin and what to do in their self-publishing journey.
Siva Prasad Bose
Siva Prasad Bose is an electrical engineer by profession. He is currently retired after many years of service in Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. He received his engineering degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and has a law degree from Meerut University, Meerut. His interests lie in the fields of family law, civil law, law of contracts, and any areas of law related to power electricity related issues.

Self-publishing is a way for new authors to publish their books with minimal costs, time and effort and get them out to the readers. Instead of approaching a traditional publisher with their manuscript, self-publishing means that the authors themselves bear the burden of formatting their books, designing the cover and so on.
