About this ebook

Destruction leads to calculated revenge.

The Ven ruled the sector for centuries. It ended at the hands of adversaries they created.

After the destruction of her planet, Greshna knew she'd restore the empire. Subjugating Xarrok required a focused, long reaching plan. It started with DNA and grew into something she programed for the destruction and rule of a people at least as powerful as the Ven.

The only obstacle to success was time. She needed time for things to fall together. Could she overcome this too?

This Science Fiction Short Story takes place after the events of The Fall in the Xarrok Series.

    Greshna's Escape

Greshna's hand smoothed over her swollen abdomen. The child within moved and kicked. It was nice to feel the life growing, unaided. It would still be a few months before the child would be ready to meet the world around her, whatever that world would be. She stood and crossed to the panel by the door. The floor shuddered beneath her feet and she rolled her eyes.

After closing her eyes and telepathically speaking with Gardesh, she opened her eyes to meet the gaze of one of her most trusted servants. The Kaninet servant with long dark marks on his neck held a small Tellurian boy with striking brown eyes with green flecks and dark brown hair. Greshna placed a hand on his cheek. Small one, you are safe here.

I want ta help, mama G. The boy thrashed about pointlessly in the massive caninoid's arm.

You're not ready to, yet. Greshna kissed his forehead and the servant carried the boy deeper into the ship. Greshna followed.

The servant suggested, Perhaps Master Reittan would like to spend time in his chamber.

Would you like to grow and get your skills stronger?

His eyes widened. Can I help after?

Of course. Greshna smiled at the boy.

He looked up at the man holding him and asked, Please can you put me down? I want to help.

The servant nodded, placed the boy on the ground then walked him back to the growth chamber. Greshna moved along side them, ushering her servant, Get the ship off the deck. Gardesh is right. We've done what we can for now.

The large man bent at the waist toward the much smaller Ven then turned, and left.

Greshna helped the boy into a tall cylindrical chamber. The long tube held a small platform that secured the boy against the metallic wall. Greshna kissed him on his head. Reittan, when you're woken you'll be able to help. I promise.

He nodded. How will I know?

    She smiled. "You'll know. You'll
