Connor Whiteley

Hello, I'm Connor Whiteley, I am an 18-year-old who loves to write creatively, and I wrote my Brownsea trilogy when I was 14 years old after I went to Brownsea Island on a scout camp. At the camp, I started to think about how all the broken tiles and pottery got there and somehow a trilogy got created. Moreover, I love writing fantasy and sci-fi novels because you’re only limited by your imagination. In addition, I'm was an Explorer Scout and I love camping, sailing and other outdoor activities as well as cooking.Furthermore, I do quite a bit of charity work as well. For example: in early 2018 I was a part of a youth panel which was involved in creating a report with research to try and get government funding for organised youth groups and through this panel. I was invited to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party and how some of us got in the royal photograph. Finally, I am going to university and I hope to get my doctorate in clinical psychology in a few years.

    ESCAPE PLAN

If You Want To Stop An Escape, You Must Break a law Sometimes,

    -Traitorous Arbiter

Arbiter Angeline frowned as she stood amongst all the sweaty, oily workers of the massive blade-like warship as everyone gathered to watch this moment.

Angeline wasn’t sure if she agreed with executions as an Arbiter. She might follow the law and hunt down criminals who broke it but killing criminals seemed... a little old fashioned.

Feeling the warm sweaty bodies of the workers and other common folk (as her peers liked to call them), Angeline placed her hand firmly on her small black pistol. She felt like she would need it.

Looking around, Angeline scanned the massive tens of metres of high grey steel ceiling and walls. She was sure the warship could easily fit a fleet of shuttles and maybe a few cruiser ships inside this hangar. It was massive.

A wave of unease washed over Angeline as she wondered if anyone was hiding up in the ceiling on the multiple bird-like fighters that hung up there. She couldn’t be sure. She hoped not.

Turning her attention to the walls of the hangar, they were hardly any better. Angeline rolled her eyes as she saw tens of fighters attached to the walls.

She knew for a fact an assassin could be hiding behind them. Or even worse, a gang of criminals could be hiding waiting for the chance to strike and bust their friend out.

Listening to the constant (annoying) chatter and talking of the common folk and humming of the warship, Angeline looked at what everyone was here to see. Including her.

Granted Angeline had tried to make it perfectly clear to her superiors that she was only going to make sure the execution went perfectly. The Superiors never listened. But Angeline was not having a professional failure on her watch. She wasn’t losing her job because of someone else’s incompetence.

In front of all of them was a large opening in the cold black floor of the warship with a crystal clear film running under it, to prevent all the air from being sucked out.

Angeline smiled as she wondered what the amazing view from the edge was like. Seeing the stunning dark green planet below. She had managed to see a glimpse of the planet earlier from the bridge and it was beautiful. Even from high orbit it was wonderous.

Then Angeline frowned as she looked at the criminal standing on a long grey plank over the opening in the floor. A tall ugly man in the characteristic bright orange tunic of the Department of Prisons. One of the Empire’s less well know organisations. Angeline was glad she didn’t work for them.

Looking the man up and down, Angeline was
