About this ebook

For Millennia, scholars, philosophers, and scientists have debated, if not argued, over the question of visitors from outer space: have they been visiting us? Are they here among us? Where do they come from if they're visiting? And why? Mad Machinations will bring to you Maker Millwright's input on this age-old debate with some current and some older materials for consideration. This book will cover different aspects of the question and delve into some of the more "pressing" conspiracy theories out there. And, of course, it will amuse. So bring your open mind, and we'll see where this can take us!

    About the Author

I'm a Canadian Author with 23 novels, 36 novellas, and 12 story collections available online, Printed On Demand. I was born to a small rural farm in southeast Ontario. After travelling across Canada many times in all its splendour, I once again make Ontario my home.

    Introduction

You’re on a fishing trolley out at sea when something saucer-shaped appears out of nowhere and drops into the sea, followed closely by jets and a military helicopter. You’re quick enough to have your phone ready to record this moment, somewhat, but there’s an issue with focus (your video doesn’t have clear detail on much but the helicopter that nears later on, and you end up recording your feet and the other sailors on your own craft a fair bit, so you don’t really get much record of anything important.

But you caught a UFO on camera, right?

    You’ve got proof, right!?

This video can be found on YouTube, and is cited in this book’s Works Cited, under the title of UFO Dives Into Ocean To Escape Military Jets! This moment, reportedly, took place off a Spanish fishing boat back in 2013. I don’t speak Spanish, yet, but the video tells us the sailors are speaking that language.

The issue with accepting this particular video has mostly been mentioned: it happens too fast; the saucer is blurred; the whole video until the helicopter shows up is a mess really, and there are too many holes.

As someone who commented on this video points out, Maybe the jets chased an top secret aircraft from another country or it was chaseing the jets? Maybe it was about to crash after being damaged by the jets and the jets seen or known it was going to crash an just took off and left. And the u.f.o. crashed and the chopper was there to c if they were survivers to rescue/ capture and interigate. or maybe it was that countrys top secret aircraft and was out testing it. maybe the aircraft was capable of diving into the ocean. I dont believe in little grey or green men.lol.. u.f.o.s. are nothing more than military top secret projects. aliens stories are nothen more then just that, stories. lies to cover up the real truth. ppl who thank they experienced a ufo and or was abducted are either deluisual and have lots of major issues and or what some kind of fame and or attention or were paid off or brainwashed to cover up the truth that its nothing more than secret aircraft being developed.

I feel the need to mention that, as an author, copying that text into a quote, into this book, made me cry a little. And cringe a lot. The grammar and spelling are atrocious. It’s dog-awful! Did that person pass Grade 1? Did they attend school for that matter!?

HIs teachers all rolled over in their graves at the same time when he posted that monster! To protect this person’s identity, I won’t name him.

Anyway, I include that comment because it points out how most people respond to these videos – deny it. It’s right there before their eyes, and they don’t believe it!

I also include it because the person isn’t completely wrong with their critique. The evidence is grainy and blurred, and it might have been a foreign, but Earth-bound craft that was being tested that went into the water. Without the craft itself, how do we know?

Someone else posted in those same comments, Nah its fake. At the distance the disc is from the camera when it hits the water there should be a noticeable delay for the sound of the water impact. Oops.

Now we’re bringing science into the debate.

Please know it if you’re going to quote it.

"In colloquial speech, speed of sound refers to the speed of sound waves in air. However, the speed of sound varies from substance to substance: typically, sound travels most slowly in gases, faster in liquids, and fastest in solids. For example, while sound travels at 343 m/s in air, it travels at 1,481 m/s in water (almost 4.3 times as fast) and at 5,120 m/s in iron (almost 15 times as fast). In an exceptionally stiff material such as diamond, sound travels at 12,000 metres per second (39,000 ft/s), - about 35 times its speed in air and about the fastest it can travel under normal conditions," (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_of_sound).

Yes, I know Wiki. I don’t always trust it, but in this case, it’s backed up by other sources. I won’t quote them all. Needless to say, the sound factor is not a reason to deny this video. The splash-down wasn’t far enough away. Try again.

But thank you for using better English!

This does, even with science stepping in there, to support the video in this case, leave this video as a maybe at the best. What I’ll put in before moving on is that I always wonder how many sailors, Spanish and other, walk around on deck with their cell phones out ready to record saucers.

Walking on the street, sitting in a classroom, on break at work, in the bathroom at work, shopping after work, while walking to and from work, … you get the picture – in most places, sure, people are glued to their phones, but don’t sailors on a fishing boat keep them stored below deck? Maybe I’m completely disconnected, but I don’t imagine the salt water’s good for a phone!

    Just saying.

The next two videos, also from YouTube, were both submitted by the same channel (person?), Hipstr. First, second I suppose in this list, is the video titled, UFOs & Aliens Flying Saucer Tech. It was submitted August 17, 2020 but relates to events that reportedly took place back in March, 1997.

Now, like with the first video, I won’t go into full detail. You can watch the videos online to see them for yourselves, but I will share the main details.

This video covers the sighting of a boomerang or carpenter-square shaped vehicle, huge and soundless, (UFOs and Aliens Flying Saucer Tech).

Why not just paraphrase that quote? I like their wording, and in truth, we haven’t photographic evidence of this craft people saw, so their words are all we’ve got. The one family that was right under it had gone out to watch the skies – but somehow forgot to bring along a camera.

Or phone that might be used to record it.

Which seems really odd to me.

That would be the main detractor in this particular case.

This craft was reportedly witness by many independent watchers. Most of them just witnessed a distant string of lights in the night sky moving slowly. They didn’t look like airplane or helicopter lights, and they were moving in one uniform direction, and bringing the stories of these different accounts together, they seem to agree. That much gives this video and event, what’s become known as the Phoenix Lights, some measure of credence.

But what if it was a string of helicopters running a coordinated search pattern? What if they did make sound, but the wind carried that sound off? What if … I mean, the mind wanders, so there is some credence to the event in this video, but there is also a lot of questioning that develops during and follows after.

That tends to be the issue with reported sightings.

A final video to mention, also published by Hipstr as mentioned, is Flying Objects A State Secret | UFO Documentary. This video, published June 7, 2021, relates to videos declassified by the military dating back to 2004, authenticated by the Pentagon in April, 2020.

The first film that’s covered in this documentary was taken on November, 2004 by planes flying off the US Aircraft carrier Nimitz which caught video of a capsule-shaped vessel making maneuvers that defied the laws of physics; the second film in this set, on the same day, was taken by patrols flying just off the Missile Cruiser, USS Princeton. They caught film of several different unidentified flying objects.

These flying objects captured on film by these military pilots hovered with no rotors or visible fuselage, and they could reach velocities no known earth craft cannot even approach at present. They rotated around the jets and accelerated vertically as well.

The jets that caught that film required infrared tech to find and record those UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon). There were a flock of them going against the wind (!20 miles to the west) caught on film off the Carrier Nimitz in particular.

I personally love these military sightings because many of them are recorded, like this pair, and the sightings are reported by people who are trained to report data clearly and completely (as completely as any human can per say).

There’ve been military sightings for many decades now that have been recorded. This video mentions a few examples: saucers hovering over missile silos and leaving nuclear warheads inoperable, Foo fighters circling and surrounding aircraft, and other aerial phenomena.

This video points out how the military isn’t really denying the existence of these events anymore. They’re not saying aliens or visitors are involved of course. They refuse to call them UFOs.

There’s a world-wide effort, has been one since the second world war, so this is nothing new either, but now everyone’s more open about there being a world-wide move to study these visits. One of the higher-ups who speaks in the film suggests these UAPs might be visitors from another planet or from another world (the difference?), or they might be something else altogether.

I don’t really understand how people discredit military videos since they’ve nothing to gain from admitting to their finds, and these people have been professionally trained to know the difference between a wind storm or bit of water on their jet and an oblong vessel performing moves no human-made craft could execute.

    One would think.

These reports really have been coming in and been shared for decades, so none of this is all that new. Why does it shock people?

But these videos, and this particular documentary, do promote that these vessels and events do not prove that these are crafts from other worlds. These videos do argue that this is not proof in Greys. Nor do they support that any alien life forms have been visiting our planet, ever, certainly not for centuries, so here again, we find credence and doubt in the same video package, and the viewer who wants some nugget of solid proof is left yet again to cuss, swear, and stamp his feet (maybe throw a more thorough tantrum) at how unfair life can be sometimes!

Why am I covering all this? Mainly, because this is the meat of this book: the visitor sighting or saucer mentions, recorded and not, here on planet Earth. Is this all real? Were these videos hoaxes?

We live in an age when you can photoshop your mother-in-law in her favourite, putrid pink lazy chair, perched onto a tiny branch, precariously overhanging a bubbling volcano. And you can make it look incredibly convincing. You can put your face onto a moving actor’s face and watch a movie clip of you swinging on a vine as Indiana Jones!

And we live in a technological age where cloning, space flight, and robotics are far advanced of the programmers working hard to keep up with the latest advances.

It is possible to fake these videos. There are reasons a person might believe some of these claims, but there tends to always be some reason to doubt them as well. The military might be creating hoaxes to support the belief in hoaxes – or so some would say.

So what’s that case with visitors?

Are they visiting us? From where? From when?

"Also known as Sherman Ranch, Skinwalker Ranch is a property located on approximately 512 acres of Ballard, Utah. The ranch is well-known for its fantastic tales of UFOs, cattle mutilations, Sasquatch sightings, and a skinwalker of a Navajo legend concerning malevolent witches. The ranch is located near Ballard, Utah, just south of Highway 191. […]

The titular ranch allegedly experiences paranormal activity regularly from UFOs and cattle mutilations to incarnate voices and poltergeists … and sometimes several at the same time. Strange occurrences on the ranch have been the focus of several scientific investigations, including from a secretive program housed in the Pentagon. What is not as well known is that some investigators claim the paranormal phenomena follow them home. Brandon Fugal, the elusive owner of Skinwalker Ranch, spoke with Den of Geek about how what happens at Skinwalker Ranch doesn’t always stay there, (Buzz Around).

Some of the finds on Skinwalker Ranch are impressive, but after all these seasons, they haven’t convinced some viewers. There are things they could be doing to get evidence and prove what’s behind some of their odd phenomenon, but they’re not doing it.

So is it all for ratings, tricks of the camera to draw watchers in?

Quoted in an online article, one twitter user has related: I think it is unfortunate if people discourage watching #TheSecretofSkinwalkerRanch, simply because it is a truthful, sincere effort to explore the nature of our world & topics that many find both intriguing or terrifying. I believe it is the greatest science project of our time, (Edwards).

This suggests to me that this person doesn’t necessarily believe in visitors from outer space, but he does give credit to odd, strange phenomenon that needs to be explored and experimented with in the effort of understanding it.

Here we have a current-day show that is still in production covering a real ranch. None of that can be argued, and something is going on at Skinwalker by this person’s account, but this person, like many others, is not necessarily attributing these oddities to Little Green Men.

Skinwalker Ranch will be covered more fully later in this book. We’ll explore the many questions that can be raised and discussed. We’ll explore, paramount, Maker Millwright’s take on this topic.

Yes, the reason his name is on the cover is that this is the second book designed to introduce Maker Millwright and his views to the world (the first book being Even for Anarchists and Cowboys). If you don’t own your own copy yet, by all means do! This second book is your chance to read and experience his take on this age-old question of visitors to Earth.

I must put in that I spent 7 months doing research on reported extra-terrestrial visitations, abductions, and encounters for an article for my World Religions book, From Gaia to Zen. I’ve included that article in this book as Appendix A. I do so because that article covers many topics this book does not. By reading this book’s main text and that Appendix article, I hope you’ll gain a more-rounded understanding of the many points to consider on this issue.

I include some excerpts from that (rather long) article in this book’s main text. Since I wrote that article, I’ve given myself permission to reprint it as main text without using quotes and bothersome citing notations. I’ve even allowed myself to change some wording to make those bits fit this book’s flow.

These segments are included as Info Bites.

Quotes from Maker and others are more properly cited.

Even having done this previous research, I look forward to this book. Maker has some really interesting takes on this question: have we been visited from other planets? He has some good questions that make me think
