This is a true story about a homeless and carless man who, with his two young sons, hitchhiked throughout the Southeastern United States from 1939 to 1944. The father’s income was meager and jobs were scarce, but by his unwavering love and commitment, he found an ingenious way for them to survive. His plan required that they live in rooming houses and relocate every few weeks. The Narrative

Columbia, Tennessee is located some 45 miles south of Nashville. It was my birthplace and home of the original of four different families with whom I lived prior to my graduation from high school. It serves as the Seat of Maury County which has become a mecca for automotive related supply and assembly companies, along with a variety of other industries.
