- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Be the Boss of Your Stuff is fabulous! It is packed full of great helpful hits and ideas written in words that kids will easily understand. My two kids found it very useful in taking back control of their messy rooms and transforming the rooms into a useable, non-cluttered living space and have learned techniques into keeping their newly organized rooms clean for months to come. This book should be in all households with kids. Quite frankly, I found it useful for my own clutter! Highly recommend!

Be the Boss of Your Stuff - Allie Casazza
STEP 1
What You Need to Know
Hi, kiddo!
We’re about to go on a really cool journey together. It’s going to help you so much! My name is Allie, and it’s my job to help people be the boss of their stuff so their stuff doesn’t become the boss of them. That may seem kind of strange, but it’s true!
A few years ago, my kids had tons of toys and lots of other stuff too. The toys were everywhere, but my kids didn’t really play with them all. They had so many clothes that we couldn’t close their dresser drawers. Their rooms were always messy, and they would be overwhelmed when it was time to clean up. It was hard for them to focus on things like reading and homework because the space around them was so messy.
Sometimes my kids would whine and complain because it would take so long to clean up and do chores. So we decided to fix the problem. We grabbed some boxes and got rid of all the stuff we didn’t really love or need, including any toys that my kids didn’t love. After that, they were excited to be in their rooms because they felt so much happier in there! It took way less time to clean up and do chores, they were able to easily find their favorite toys to play with, and they even noticed their attitudes were better.
Then I started helping other families make their homes happier. I got so good at it that it became my job! I started making videos and podcast episodes to help other people change their homes and change their lives. So now I’m a pro!
When we surround ourselves with too much stuff, not only does it make our rooms and spaces messy, but it can make us feel messy too. It’s like we’re being bossed around by our stuff instead of being in charge of it. I want you to know that I’m here to help you take control of that stuff and become the boss of it. You’ll like your room better and feel lighter in life—everything will feel less messy. And if you follow what’s in this book, things are about to get so much simpler.
CLUTTER IS THE PROBLEM
Imagine this. It’s a beautiful sunny day, and all your friends are playing outside. You want to join in on the fun, but you’ve got some things to get done first. Like homework and chores. The clock is ticking till dinner. What if . . .
You sit down in a space that’s clean and neat. Everything is where you need it to be. You have plenty of room for your books, papers, pencils, and computer. You knock out your work with a clear space and a clear mind. Then . . .
You finish your chores in five minutes or less. You made your bed this morning, and you picked up your room after you played yesterday. You take your laundry to the laundry room, do a little bit of tidying, and even help your mom with some family spaces.
