The Robin of Corner House: (And Other Poems)

About this ebook
A note to readers,
This book would’ve initially been titled ‘Letters to my Father’, that is because these poems were written over 3 years of my life during my time in Northern Ireland, so they really are like letters, for they stem from a very intimate place with the Lord. Reading them over I find comfort remembering how very close I felt to the Lord in the moment of writing each poem and the overwhelming peace that followed. It is my deepest prayer that as you too read through this book you will experience streams of living waters flowing from your heart, you will deeply encounter the living God who loves you exceptionally, you will know grace through an experience of the cross and you will find great peace as you rest in the Love and strength of our eternal father, as you come to find that He is good, for He is.
Jesuferanmi
The author is a young poet who has been writing poetry from the heart for over four years. This is her pioneering publication. The author aims to encourage and comfort through her poems and therefore her poems often have a rounded tone ending on a lesson, a message of comfort, or a biblical signposting. The author’s hope is that amid the chaos that life can bring, readers will find a lasting peace as they are being centered and anchored in a constant and ever-loving God.

Cushendun
Image.JPGCushendun is the town in Northern Ireland that inspired this book’s titular poem, The Robin of Corner House.
This is a view of its beautiful harbor from behind Corner House. Used with permission from the National Trust.
Cushendun is found in the heart of the Glens of Antrim. The village sits off the A2 coast road between Cushendall (4.5 miles south) and Ballycastle (12 miles north) and lies at the mouth of the River Dun and Glendun, one of the nine Glens of Antrim. The village has been a landing place and ferry point between Scotland and Ireland since man first settled on the north coast some 9,000 years ago.
Most of Cushendun Village has been owned by the National Trust since 1954 and Conservation Area designation was given in June 1980 to protect the special qualities of the village.
In the 19th century summer residences or bathing lodges were becoming increasingly fashionable amongst the wealthier classes; the first of the surviving ‘big houses’ in Cushendun, Rockport was built in 1815. By the time the Memoirs accompanying the first Ordinance Survey map of the Village had been compiled (1835) Glenmona and Glendun Lodge had also been erected.
