I Didn’t Do It

There is this girl in our school. She is so bossy and very annoying, but she is fun to be with. And she is my best friend.

Hey, have you heard about this creature that everyone is talking about all the time? Do you know anything about this? asked Makena.

Yep! That’s my best friend, Makena. You know, the bossy one. She wants to know everything, and I mean everything. Sometimes, I wonder where she gets all this stuff that, most of the time, I don’t hear of until she starts bragging about it.

Donald shook his head. Nope. What is that about?

Oh yeah, of course. Donald, Donald, Donald! He’s in our class, kind of weird sometimes. He seems a little bit slow in grasping everything that is happening around him. He’s brilliant, though, but still acts like a little boy. He’s my BF too—no, not that kind of BF, but BF as in best friend. They are both my best friends. Together, we do things all in the name of fun, and we love it.

What about you, Gracie? asked Makena.

Not much. But I heard that our principal is hiding it in the fountain at the courtyard of his office.

Makena’s eyes lit up. Really? So it’s true. I heard, too, that it has magical power. Do you know it can turn anything into something else? Isn’t that fantastic?

No way! My eyes widened, and I didn’t blink for a moment. Then I thought that it was the weirdest thing I’d ever heard.
