Preface
Orkidedatter is an artistic poet, writer, and artist from Norway. From the time she was a child, she has drawn her feelings, stories, poems, or experiences. A childhood with experiences children should not have, she used this to process emotions. Orkidedatter was never recognized or accepted for having this ability. She buried and hid her talent far inside her soul.
For many years she wrote, drew, and painted and nobody knew about it. She dared not talk about this to anybody because she was bullied and worse things happened. Several thought it was fantasy, but in her hand, she stood with her life.
For many years, she kept her writings and herself as a writer hidden like a secret. Now she is on her way to find herself in this literary atmosphere. She has removed her secret chapter by chapter in her life the last four years.
At the age of 40, she realized she had to deal with her childhood and get help to deal with all her traumas. Orkidedatter found a way back to her artist's soul and writer's heart. Writing became a healing process for her and her poetry collection grew.
The book is based on her life and the poems are written as twisted and dark as her experiences from a child`s mind as she remembers it and from old notes and books she has kept. There is always a truth of hers in these poems, but the reader has to wonder what it is. She is also an artist and try to make a connection between what she writes and her art. She does this to emphasize her message, feeling, or action.
The poems are written without editing with a touch of sparkling brightness. She hopes that more people in the same situation will know that they are not alone and that there is a way out of the dark.
