    Dedication

    Author’s Foreword

These Bible messages on the blood are in progression from Genesis to Revelation. Every chapter in the Bible teaches blood redemption. You can take any chapter in the Bible and show anyone how to be saved. God’s saving blood plan starts in Genesis and works its way through the scriptures, all the way to the book of the Revelation.

I went to a Baptist Camp Meeting where a pastor preached on the blood of Jesus Christ. The message stirred my heart so much that I have never been the same. I have been studying and collecting material about the blood redemption taught in the Bible for thirty years. Through my studying and preaching on the blood, I understand better the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Studying on the blood has helped me understand why Jesus had to die on the Cross and why blood had to be shed. I have preached many sermons on the blood. I love Jesus now more than ever before, because of my study about the blood sacrifice of Jesus. Every time I preach on the blood of Jesus, it rekindles a fire within me. I preach the blood, the book, and the blessed hope of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What is the purpose of preaching and teaching on the blood? The same thing that happened to me will happen to anyone, who makes an in-depth study on the blood. The blood teachings of the Bible, holds the entire key, to the whole purpose of the Bible. God in Genesis started revealing His Plan to redeem lost sinners. Then God progressively widens the blood river to cover the sins of everyone, who would accept Jesus as their Savior. Without the shedding of blood there is no redemption for sin. It’s blood, Jesus’ blood that redeems sinners.

The Red Thread Of Blood Redemption

    Hebrews 9:1-14

If you read the Bible and don’t see the blood, you need to re-read it. The blood is there on every page. The blood may be there as a type, figure, or illustration, but it is there. Three threads go through the Bible. There is the black thread of sin, the red thread of blood redemption, and the second coming’s golden thread. There are not just four Gospels, but there are sixty-six Gospels. I can take any book in the bible and show someone how to be saved. The Bible is a book about blood. I preach from a bloodstained Bible. When someone says I’m preaching a Gospel of blood, I gladly plead guilty. I preach the blood, the book, and the blessed hope. There is no gospel but the bloodstained Gospel. Anywhere you prick the Bible, blood seems to pour out.

Every Christian is bloodstained. The Holy of Holies was bloodstained. Every Priest that went into the Holy of Holies was bloodstained. You may say I’m a Christian, but you are not if you have not been bloodstained. The king’s highway has been blasted out the rock of ages and cemented together with the blood of Jesus. The blood is the only way from the city of destruction to the town that lies foursquare. If a man wants to, he can sail on the dead sea of sin to hell or the red sea of blood to Heaven. The blood is in the Bible over seven hundred times, from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible is the only living book in the world. The Bible declares itself to be an living book. Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. The word quick" means it is alive. The blood circulates through every page, every verse, and every word. From the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation is a stream of blood. If you cut this book, it seems to bleed.

God can pardon, but not without blood.

Hebrews 9:22, without shedding of blood is no remission.

God can redeem, but not without blood.

I, John 1:7, the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

You can go to Heaven, but not without blood.

Hebrew 10:19, Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the Holiest by the blood of Jesus.

You can have peace, but not without blood.

Colossians 1:20, And, having made peace through the blood of His Cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say whether they be things in Earth, or things in Heaven.

You can have Justification, but not without blood.

Romans 5:9, Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

You can have Sanctification but not without blood.

Hebrew13:12, Wherefore Jesus also, that. He might sanctify the people with His own blood suffered without the gate.

Glorification can be ours, but not without blood.

Revelation 7:14, And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

There is a highway of blood from Genesis to Revelation.

    I. Abel shows the blood of one Lamb for one person.

Hebrews 11:4, By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous.

God created Adam and Eve. Adam sinned, and God came looking for him. God called out to Adam. Genesis 3:9, Where art thou? Adam’s made an excuse for God. Genesis 3:12, The woman whom thou givest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

Eve made an excuse to God also. Genesis 3:13, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, and the snake did not have a leg to stand on. Ever since that time, man has sought a scapegoat. Adam and Eve had tried to hide the shame of their nakedness with fig leaves sewn together. The Bible says they tried to hide from the presence of the Lord. The religion of man’s works cannot stand the all-piercing gaze of a righteous and Holy God! It was the works of their hands, and it would not suffice! God took an innocent animal, slew the animal, and bloodshed. God gave them a blood covering! In the Bible, salvation is spoken of as a covering, as a robe of righteousness! Innocent bloodshed shed for Adam and Eve. Why? Hebrew 9:22, "Without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin." Adam and Eve took their residence outside the Garden and began to raise a family. Two sons, Cain and Abel, were born to them. Soon came the day that God called for an offering from each of Adam and Eve’s sons. So, Cain brought an offering, and Abel brought an offering.

    A. The offering of Cain. Jude 1:11," Woe unto them, for they have gone the way of Cain."

Cain was a farmer, but God had cursed the ground. Genesis 3:17, Cursed is the ground. The land was cursed, but Cain was a sinner because he was a son of Adam. I Corinthians 15:22, as In Adam all die. Cain, with wicked hands and wicked fingers, offers the Lord the fruit of the cursed ground. It might have been pleasant to look upon, but it was unacceptable. It probably looked like a county fair. Cain brought the Lord all luscious fruit, all of the healthy vegetables, and all of the beautiful flowers! Cain brought the best of everything in his Garden to the Lord. He was very religious! Perhaps in his way, he was sincere! God was unhappy with Cain’s way. Jude 1:11, Woe unto them, for they have gone the way of Cain.

You cannot get blood out of a turnip. It was the religion of effort! The Lord will not accept it because it is the religion of works. The doctrine of self-effort will not get you into Heaven. You may say I belong to the Church, but have you applied the blood? Standing in a bakery will not make you a donut. Standing in a garage will not make you a car. A cat having kittens in a bread pan will not make them biscuits. You would be surprised how many people have a human-made religion. They believe they’re going to get to God by their self-effort. The Bible says Hebrews 9:22, Without shedding of blood is no remission. Cain brought a bloodless sacrifice, and God would not accept it.

    B. The offering of Abel.

Genesis 4:4, And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering.

Abel brought a lamb and killed the animal as a burnt offering to the Lord. This Lamb represents the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. The bleeding Lamb that God looked upon with approval was a picture,
