The Might of Kings: The Story of David and Saul: A Fictional Account Through the Eyes of the A
()
About this ebook
The bravery and dedication of these men of valor will be put to the ultimate test as many of their comrades begin abandoning the king. Just like the massive looming war with the Philistines is on the horizon, their faith and reliance in their Elohim and in one another will become equally daunting. Gideon's tight-knit group will recount this story from their vantage point as they utilize their faith as a guide, while delicately struggling between their loyalties or becoming swept away with tales of another king rising. All while navigating the tumultuous changes surrounding them and their countrymen as they fully consider what exactly constitutes the true might of a king.

GIDEON, NAMAAN, JOSHUA, ZECCHAIUS, and ASHER are elite mighty warriors from Judah in King Saul’s army. They have since regrouped after a battle against the Philistines. The youngest of the group, ASHER, has news concerning their king after the greatness of David has turned to song becoming a household name throughout Israel.
Scene 1
Army Camp
ASHER
Have you heard? It is said that David is to be King. That he has been anointed by the prophet Samuel due to the king’s disobedience to Elohim.
ZECCHAIUS
Will you keep quiet? Do you wish to be executed?
ASHER
So there is truth to this?
ZECCHAIUS
I know not, but I do not wish to find out through execution.
JOSHUA
Do you not mean because you are loyal to King Saul?
ZECCHAIUS
Sure, of course.
NAMAAN
Enough of this talk. Our great King is Saul alone. He always rewards his soldier’s loyalties.
ZECCHAIUS
Yes, yes; no one could be in doubt of yours.
NAMAAN
Yes, unlike you.
ZECCHAIUS
What was that?
JOSHUA
Calm down Zecchaius, no one is blaming you. Besides, if you were to be executed, then most of the army would be as well. Is this not correct Asher?
ASHER
Yes, that’s right! Many speak of it!
NAMAAN
Blasphemous! The lot of you! This David may have killed the giant, but he is no king. Saul is Israel’s only king!
ASHER
But we know he has done more
