About this ebook

Georg Adamson thinks he has seen something that could change the world, but are the authorities going to let that happen?
In Sieg Heil or the Triumph of Good, Romanian novelist Orlando Balaș takes us to the year 2151. In doing so, he reveals his predictions as to what the world may be like in the distant future, if not earlier. There human life has been completely overturned by scientific progress that regulates everything – including human reproduction. In such times, Georg is on an unusual trial for inadvertently going public about what he saw, something with potentially uncontrollable consequences for the state, and its stringent, decades-long undertaking with biotech companies. Is he lying about what he saw? If not, how far will the authorities go to silence him?
Through Georg, you will get the chance to explore some major social movements and themes that are already gaining momentum in today’s world. Sieg Heil or the Triumph of Good is dystopian literature and political fiction at its finest!

    Scene I

A bright, airy room with three desk tables. In the center, a little further back but facing the public sits the judge. Her desk is the highest one around. In front of her is a large, high-tech monitor which she controls through an integrated touchpad. A folder is open on it.

On the right of the stage, the defendant is sitting at a more modest table. Attached to his temple, right above the lightning tattoo, as well as on two fingers of his left hand, there are small sensors with antennae, part of a wireless lie detector.

On the left of the stage, the prosecutor is sitting at a desk with another high-tech monitor before him.

A pleasant female voice makes an announcement through the courtroom speakers: The first hearing in case P3.802 / SE / 2151, with defendant Georg Adamson, judge Gudrun Unnsdóttir and prosecutor Peter Sturluson.

Judge: Court is now in session. The defendant and the prosecutor are present. Will the prosecutor please read the indictment?

Prosecutor (reading from the monitor): "Honorable court, I present the charges in case P3.802 / SE / 2151, drawn
