This book is a work of fiction. All names, characters, incidents, settings, brands, and dialogue are from the author’s imagination. None of this book is from real life.

THIS BOOK IS FOR SALE TO ADULT AUDIENCES ONLY. There are scenes with explicit acts of sex and adult language; some people may find offensive.

Although some locations may have names that resemble those of actual locations, they are purely coincidental. Any similarity to actual events or person, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. Dedication

This book is dedicated to my family and dear friends who supported me throughout the writing of this book. To those who purchased my books, I say thank you because you gave me the courage to continue to write. I want to thank my Facebook friends and those who are not on social media. There are too many to list. It would take more than a half-dozen pages.

Each book I write will always be dedicated to my late mother because she was the beginning of my interest in reading and writing. She is in my heart with every word.

I must also dedicate this book to my late maternal Great Grandmother because she spoke of unusual phenomena and my fraternal grandmother, who was an unusual woman, too. These women kept me from fearing the unknown and how to research wonders of the world I didn’t understand.

    Acknowledgments

I wish to acknowledge the writers and a few of their books I used for research and one writer who put the idea of writing about magic in my brain.

Rayne Hall’s Writing About Magic (Chapter 10) and Fantasy Writing Prompts are books. They put the germ of writing about magic in my brain.

Steven Harper’s Writing the Paranormal Novel is another inspiring book.

I spent hours researching paranormal and magic. Some information is a joke, and some information puts questions in the mind with few answers.

    Chapter One

My average day starts peacefully at 7:30 A.M. I banish the negative and encourage the positive. By 8:30, I am at my desk at the copyediting business I

The author of the recent best-selling New Age non-fiction novel wants to see you. Should I send him in?

Josh, does he have an appointment, and what is his name?

Mr. Parker does not have an appointment. However, he says that since the weather wasn’t perfect, he thought he would see you in hopes you wouldn’t be busy with other clients.

I see nothing about the weather has anything to do with my schedule. Give me a few minutes before showing Mr. Bailey Parker into my office.

Josh always fills in for our receptionist and is a damn good copyeditor. First, however, I need a few minutes to search Mr. Parker’s background. I’m not too fond of unexpected visits from so-called best-selling authors.

After Mr. Parker’s name into the search engine, his face pops up on the screen. The credentials for a would-be client are impressive. Mr. Parker studies and teaches history from the dark ages to current historical events. But unfortunately, I couldn’t understand his reason for seeking my services until I read the last paragraph. Mr. Parker’s previous copyeditor died from a sudden heart attack.

My apology for coming without making an appointment, but there is an emergency. My copyeditor was in the middle of my latest manuscript and fell ill. Please help me.

Mr. Parker, you caught me at a hectic time.

Please forgive me. You come highly recommended, and money is no problem to pay top dollar for your services or any member of your firm.

We are on a tight schedule. I can’t be sure we can help you. I have specialized copyeditors. Most of the editors work in New Age magic manuscripts. From what I see, you are a history professor and novelist.

My latest manuscript is about historical aspects of the magicians that were often called witches and warlocks. Male witches are witches and not warlocks. Did you know that fact?

Yes. I am aware male witches are the same. I must see a synopsis and the first chapter before agreeing to our services. So far, the gentleman who ushered you into my office might be the right person for your work. We must see your work in progress.

    The manuscript is complete.

Mr. Bailey Parker passes half a ream of paper to me from his case. The neatly typed pages in Courier double spaced appear professional.

Do you have a pdf of the completed work?

Yes. What is your email address, or is there an official address?

I pass the email address to Mr. Parker. Within minutes, the complete manuscript appears in the inbox. I forward a copy to Josh’s email address with a note.

Your manuscript and finished work will need a disclaimer for adults only. Will you agree with the disclaimer?

Why should the book have limitations?

You have sketches that are not appropriate for children. You have drawings that adults may find offensive.

Each drawing and sketch have explanations underneath them.

We usually copy edit words and not drawings for any genre.

I can tell Mr. Parker is a handful. I can also see the reason his copyeditor dies of a heart attack. The sketches are graphic and could be pornographic for ceremonial history magic. The sex organs are drawings with details.

Maybe we will not have a deal. Maybe you find the drawing offensive to you and not to my readers.

Did your prior books have such detail work?

No. Every time the chance came to me, other editors put up the same barriers. So, my inclination was that you are different.

Your intuition was wrong. We copyedit other books of historical nature with words and not full body detail. Did you read the books by Allen or Carlton on historical magicians?

Yes. Your name is my reason for me being here.

Did you see any drawings with such detail as the ones in your work in progress?

No. However, the words say what pictures do so much better.

What will it take for you to omit the drawings? Can we compromise using specific wording and let imagination do the job?

No. My work needs details to show what went into ceremonial magic of the people from various countries up to the time the magic comes to our shores.

I have a suggestion for you, and then we can meet later. You want and need your work edited and published. We are talking about self-publishing the same way you did with the other books. Am I right?

    Yes. you are right.

I will not put my name and the firm’s reputation on the line for your graphic depictions of sex acts without disclaimers. Do I make myself clear?

Yes. But my book needs your firm’s help. Writing is one thing, but editing is something else. However, the drawings are pencil sketches.

Would you consider removing most of the details?

Let me sleep on the proposition. How soon must you know my decision?

I must know as soon as possible. We are not sitting around waiting for additional work.

I usher Mr. Parker out the same way he enters my office.

Josh, I wouldn’t count on seeing Mr. Parker again. He is reckless. He is susceptible to emotional difficulties. Mr. Parker is extremely open to new experiences.

    # # #

Controlling the actions of others is never in my total control. I can mediate myself into a balanced state of mind. However, there are events and incidents a birthright magician can’t control. Eight months into the year and the rainy season never ended in Georgia. Some days wishing, and magic didn’t change the forecast. The day is busier than ever for a Monday.

Did you review the Book of Mirrors from your grandmother’s steamer trunk?

Yes. The pages are fragile. I made copies of each important page.

The people around me are what turn my spirit inside out. The sun is shining. Mother Nature is wearing her beautiful colors of green for a few more weeks. My path is a mixture of smooth and jagged stones. The rough edges are for lessons learned. My natural talent makes me a great candidate as a copy editor for the new-age authors.

What about the talisman with the amulets and instructions? Are they safe?

Yes. Would you stop questioning me about the paperwork? We are rounding the corner of rejuvenating the relics.

    They are not relics.

Fiona, we have survived for years knowing these days were approaching. You will wear out another more worry beads.

    Where were you this morning?

I followed your prescription for a peaceful day. But unfortunately, we are busy around here.

Are you serious? Did you follow my instructions to the letter?

I deviated to some extent. I stuck to my banishing and meditations at sunrise after showering.

You understand the work that is required to achieve your goals. Your gifts are amazing magic, not to take lightly. You earn your power with strength and practice. You must put in the demanding work.

I listen to one High Priestess in magic, Fiona. She’s one of the best. Fiona prefers the name magician and cringes at the word witch and forbids me to say witchcraft. We agree on titles and tease each other by calling each other witches. I suggest for Fiona author books filled with her knowledge. I keep notes of her wisdom for the proper way to refer to our work. She says the unique teachings are essential. Unlike my other clients for my copyediting business, Fiona prefers face-to-face instructions. She will recommend a book or two to back up her words.

I get tons of help and directions from you and Allen.

Allen is getting up in age. He and I will refer you to other magicians to keep you on track.

What about you? Will you abandon me?

I will never abandon you. However, it would help if you grew with every day’s work. You must have firm hands guiding you to the correct path. Self-study is not good for the rest of your life.

I edit and read from the best new age authors.

You have self-discipline, but you lack focus. Have you noticed Allen’s trouble to recover from casting spells and charging amulets?

Yes. Allen tries to cover his dwindling energy levels after each casting. How old is Allen?

I can’t be sure. Allen’s age is a number he’s never said. Allen didn’t accept his magic. Didn’t he tell you about his early days?

Yes. But Allen said something about not treating his body with grace. Allen says he probably fathered children without remembering the incidents.

Allen’s magic frightened him. I suspect Allen is in his late seventies. Allen drank hard alcoholic beverages, trying to dull the visual memories. There were days Allen didn’t eat food. He wasn’t fasting. Eventually, he accepted the magical gifts. Your parents and grandparents did the right thing with you.

Allen’s first three books pertain to accepting your innate gifts and working with what it gives you.

Fiona’s extra teachings through the coven were a welcome source of instruction.

I’m glad you mentioned his books. Allen has at least two more books in his brain. I hope you will encourage him to stop overworking.

Allen has tons of plans on his schedules. He called me concerning the book tours.

You can’t let him do too many of those masterpieces. He needs to take it easy. Overworked magicians lose the ability to recognize psychic attacks.

You need not tell me about getting too tired to see what comes your way.

That is exactly why I called you this morning. You are busy with editing, promoting, and searching for new clients. You’ve experienced one severe attack. Be sure to get rest and eat properly.

Is that the reason you came to my office?

Aside from checking up on you, I hear you and Patrick aren’t getting along too well. Is that true?

I didn’t choose Patrick to collaborate with me on my journey to the magical restoring of the talisman. Patrick is Allen’s choice.

And your choice is Mr. Sebastian, or is it his father?

The idea is to be comfortable with the man or men at the ceremony to raise high and intense energy. I am comfortable with Sebastian.

Why are you tossing Patrick aside?

I do not trust Patrick. Patrick’s prior relationship with Minerva is memorable.

Please don’t say you remember my initial coven.

I know we were barely twenty. But, yes, I remember the early days.

Fiona summons us to her coven after my folks put my magic in Fiona’s hands for guidance. Minerva strips Patrick naked for crystal-raising energy. I notice Patrick accepts Minerva. The two roll around Fiona’s backyard like animals. The earth around the couple shows burn marks after their coupling.

Now, I see your real reason for this visit. What are you hearing?

Sebastian and his father, Carlton, are long-standing members of my circle. They are original participants in my coven. Sebastian’s mother was incredibly young when Sebastian was born. You’ve rejuvenated Carlton’s work. His books are best sellers. Sebastian’s back in the classroom teaching parapsychology and paranormal phenomena. I want to understand why?

Carlton and Sebastian returned from two special trips. Carlton returned from Salem’s dig. Sebastian just returned from Scotland. As a result, both men have a lot of data to fill books and classroom study plans.

Carlton is into testing magic for its potency. I can’t be sure, and I won’t ask you about your contact with either man. However, Carlton has a goal he is trying to reach. He’s explained the goal to me. Carlton’s magic is good, and he wishes Sebastian’s is better. Are you aware of what I speak about concerning Carlton?

No. We are sticking to my editing and promotional contract. Carlton writes, I edit, and tours after publication. His books hit all the shelves in the New Age stores.

What about Sebastian? Are you two a serious couple or just a magic tester?

I thought you said you would not pry into my intimate life. What happened to your statement?

‘Okay, I’ll cut to the truth. You are in the middle of a three-act journey. Your parents put you in my hands before their death. "

    What are you saying?

Carlton told me what happened when Sebastian’s mother died. Sebastian is a year older than you. Carlton says he tried to raise the spirit of Sebastian’s mother when he took you to his altar.

I won’t deny the intimate relationship between Carlton and me. There are various versions of Fiona’s past life. My telepathic gifts tell me the true story has yet come out.

Your goal is with talismans, amulets, and success. Don’t deny that fact, and you’ve been with Carlton to charge stones, talismans, and amulets. I remember my teachings. But Carlton has a long-range plan. Be careful, he doesn’t use his magic to overwhelm you to meet his goals. Carlton is too close to Minerva in recent months.

I have shut down any frequent intimate moments with Carlton. Instead, I emailed the edited manuscript to him last night.

The emailed corrections came after I was with Carlton in his bed. Carlton’s magic is hypnotic to the strongest magician. Unfortunately, Allen is growing too old to raise energy to its magical max.

Besides, I prefer the solitary magician instead of the coven life. However, I remember Fiona’s first coven and the people with ulterior motives.

Good to hear you are just Carlton’s editor and nothing more right now.

I smile at Fiona’s statement because she knows the truth. Fiona brought the teacher and student together.

The Tuesday and Wednesday duplicate each other from 8:30 to 5:00 P.M. start to finish

I am sorry. I won’t be able to give my attention. However, my best copy-editing staff will work with you. We received calls for help on Monday and today. Your request is the sixth.

I was hoping for your personal touch. You work wonders for my fellow New Age writers.

I read your last two books, Marshall Cline. The first one is eye-popping. The second is quite a leap into energy raising with crystals and metal. What does your new book cover?

I guess your staff will fill you in on the data. Who is my new editor?

My editors specialize in certain aspects of magic. My employees take pride in their specialization. I have fourteen editors. Each of my editors is always upping their game to match the authors’ subjects.

How do your editors increase their knowledge?

Each editor attends seminars about their specialized magic. Finally, the editors write books in their fields.

If your book is about High and Low Magic, Ms. Evelyn Caufield is your editor. If your book is about Traditional Magick, William Stafford is your editor. Ceremonial Magick is Ms. Carlotta Hamilton’s specialty. Do you understand why I ask what the subject is in your book?

    What is your specialty?

I am an editor with extensive knowledge. In addition, I am both a natural and studied magician.

Are the rumors true you are a High Priestess and refuse to ascend to your craft?

We are here for your needs. First, I list my credentials for editing manuscripts. You say Allen sent you to me for my expertise.

There is another reference from Mr. Rucker. Do you remember James Rucker?

I ignore the question, returning to my explanation for passing the manuscript to my assistants.

Second, I have enough work to last me a year.

Can you check your schedule to let me squeeze in your busy times?

What is your specialist subject for the current work in progress?

Marshall Cline’s books are descriptive with detailed mantras. For example, Marshall describes a heart-shaped rose quartz crystal leaving an imprint on his navel after raising energy and heat from metal. He dispels the myth about metal and magicians.

The work in progress is the Ceremonial Magick and the 20th-century. Several aspects from the 18th and 19th centuries carried over to the 20th century. In addition, my research uncovers parts of old and new magic in New Age life.

I am versed in all systems of magic. Here are my credentials.

I see you hold degrees in English and psychology. I heard your English specialty is in writing. What is your specialty in psychology?

Parapsychology and analytical are my specialties.

Why don’t you hold doctorates? Why not masters?

I will get to those degrees after I work through a personal situation.

I will stop beating around the juniper bush. I am here for two reasons. The first is to hire you to edit the following two books. So, I hope you will squeeze me into your busy schedule. The second reason is that Allen says you might need my help for a major task.

I will assign my best editor to your work in progress until the work is ready for publication.

What about the major task? What about the major ancestry task?

I will email you the editor’s name, phone number, and email address. You can correspond with the assigned editor.

I know Allen is losing his ability to perform certain ceremonies. However, I wonder if Marshall Cline is auditioning for Allen’s job.

Do you want a style sheet from me?

Your editor will work with you soon.

Marshall Cline can’t be Allen’s substitute. So, Dario is Allen’s substitute teacher for classes and me. Marshall Cline is not part of our group. He is a fantastic author of fiction and non-fiction. However, I do not trust the man.

    # # #

My success and prosperity magic spell work too well. I will not complain, but I must groan with exhaustion at noon on Thursday. The range of well-mannered authors eases the angst of the temperamental spoiled word movers.

Odd vibes are emanating from you. Did you have an unwelcome visitor?

Allen, why did you send Marshall Cline to me?

Negative vibrations are coming from you. Please take ten deep breaths, my dear Glynis.

You have never presented such a self-centered author to me. Marshall wants pampering and me to edit his books. You know I do not have time. Besides, my time is precious before I battle my latest nemesis, Minerva.

Your only nemesis is Minerva. Working with Marshall Cline will not harm you unless you invite the spirits.

I need people with positive vibes. Marshall is not positive. The edge to his magic leans toward the dark side.

Marshal practices various systems of magic. His books guide against the dark side. Are you looking for reasons to reject him?

Marshall’s topics are interesting. Unfortunately, I have a limited staff.

Will you work with Marshall for me? You know my work is dwindling to a novel a year. So let Marshall fill the gap.

Would you answer a couple of questions for me?

I know Allen will transition from his earthly body. Dario is High Priest with Allen’s apprentice. Harvey Everett.

Have you changed your line of succession?

There are no changes. You will continue working with Dario. You will take your rightful place after Fiona leaves her earthly place as a High Priestess. You are ready, now.

Are you searching for a clue about my future? You know the journey I must travel.

You will travel roads, leading people to a better understanding of magic. You are special with your gifts of empathic life. But, please, do not repeat my mistakes. Instead, please accept your magical life.

Let’s return to Marshall Cline. What should I do with the author? Should I let my best editor work her magic?

You can work with Marshall and guide your best editor.

Why should I give Marshall my precious time?

Have you read Marshall’s pre-editing draft?

    No. I have the synopsis.

You will need Marshall’s in-depth research about Tantric Massage. You are with Sebastian instead of my recommended assistant. You will need Marshall’s help near the end of your journey and after battling Minerva.

Do I need a refresher course in massage?

No. Marshall is descriptive in work, in progress, as he is in Marshall’s previous books. He is not good at punctuation. Have you read the books of mirrors and shadows from your grandparents?

    I scanned the pages. Why?

You must read each detail, make notes relating to the talisman, and document the missing crystals.

I have a list of missing and damaged stones. The amethyst is in a unique shape.

The round shape signifies a polish amethyst stone. Do you understand now?

    Yes.

Glynis, my student, please take your past and present lessons seriously. Minerva wants the talisman. She wants you to do the arduous work, and then she will swoop in. The recorded facts do not lie. Your ancestors escaped dangers with the completed talisman. Minerva is not a unique magician. You are special and never forget the fact.

I notice Allen does not say evil, witch, or negative words like he did years ago.

Will we resume charging the crystals and other precious stones for my restoration tasks?

You know, the last incidents did not go the way we hoped. Do you have all the remaining stones?

I recall Allen’s shortened breathes and the difficulty Allen to maintaining his hardness. Arousal was terrific, but the series of stops and starts barely met the requirements for energy raising.

I need three more major crystals. I have six replacements for the amulets.

Please do not turn to Carlton for the remaining processes. You can’t start with one wizard and turn to another with a different magic system.

Please, Allen, put away your jealousy. You and Benjamin Carlton Godfrey travel in the same lanes of magic. The rejuvenation process clock is ticking away. Halloween and November first are closing in on us.

You are showing your impatience with me. The moment you call a person by their full name, there is trouble on the horizon. Dario will oversee any issues remaining with you between now and November first.

There isn’t any trouble. I prefer using the names on the cover of books. Is Dario in the circle for personal gains or professional purposes?

Dario is a magician professional. Dario’s education and natural magic are impeccable. In addition, Dario’s telepathic skills are natural with educational honing.

Are you still pushing for Patrick and me to make the last stages of the rejuvenation together?

Of course. We must include Dario because he observed you and Patrick meditating and raising energy with arousing sex magic.

What if I can’t go the distance with Patrick?

What is your reason for banishing Patrick for the final stage?

I do not trust Patrick. I am not very sure about Dario.

Do you trust anyone? Do you trust me? Is all your trust in Carlton and Fiona?

Do you want my telepathic answer or an answer without a touch of magic?

I can tell Allen is tuning into my thoughts. The silence could deafen, but Allen hums an old Irish tune. He never changes the song for such moments.

Trusting Fiona is good. Trusting Carlton isn’t worth your magical efforts. We know Carlton is trying to duplicate his magic in a new offspring.

Why should I trust Fiona and not Carlton?

Your family put you in our hands for guidance. Your family did not make a mistake. However, Fiona made a mistake encouraging you to become a part of a plot to make two friends happy. Carlton’s flesh might be delightful, but sex magic, by Carlton’s standards, has nothing to do with love. Do not make the same mistake Phaedra made.

Fiona’s best friend and author, Catherine Phaedra Randers asked me to fulfill a dying woman’s wish. What is the difference between sleeping with you and Carlton, my dear High Priest Allen?

Now, you are patronizing me. Carlton is not teaching you about the Druid or Celtic Sex Magick and how to use the system for success. Do you see the difference now?

    Yes, Allen.

However, you are addicted to Carlton’s magic magnetism. He does not spell you but addicts you to him.

Allen is right. I close our conversation with the image of Carlton’s naked body in my mind. I can’t put a digital age to Allen or Carlton, but I know they are similar in age.

Your 10:00 A.M. appointment is here. Should I show him into your office or the conference room?

Scanning my calendar for today, I see the 10:00 A.M. is Mr. Lukas Ridgeston. He is a professor at an out-of-state college teaching psychology. He intends to publish his third book before applying for a promotion.

You can show Mr. Ridgeston into my office. I see little for us to discuss. Therefore, the meeting should be short.

He is handsome, and you might like to check him out for more than publishing purposes.

No, Josh. Where is Cynthia today?

She is late because of childcare issues.

I greet Mr. Lukas Ridgeston with a smile and handshake. He immediately produces a one-inch binder.

What brings to you my office, Mr. Ridgeston?

Your bio says you majored in psychology before starting this editing agency.

Do you wish to employ me or my staff to edit your book before publishing?

Yes. My book is a product of extensive research on the psychological behavior of various people. The cause and effect in psychological behavior.

Does your book go in depth about the causes and ramifications of bad psychological behavior on unique actions?

No. But you give me an idea for a new book. My book is the advanced theory of psychological behavior. The impulses of people and their tendencies to hide the truth.

Don’t many people hide the truth to avoid pain? Don’t people restrain from facts to keep actions from believable?

Ms. You keep turning out ideas that will bring me back to you after we settle my current manuscript.

I am trying to flesh out your manuscript to put the pages in the right hands. I have various editors with a variety of expertise.

Is there a possibility for you to work on my manuscript personally?

I seldom edit books of your type.

Isn’t your specialty in psychology? Or do you give more attention to parapsychology?

You left the reference blank on the application for help. Where did you hear about my agency?

"You are seen at book signings. Your
