About this ebook
What happens when you’re on opposites sides of morality?
The misunderstanding of a lifetime.
Daniel
As one of the sons to Leonardo Benetti, Daniel Benetti had it made. Like all the heirs in The Benetti Crime Family, life had been eventful, but fairly easy. Plus, since no one in their right mind messed with his family, that had allowed him to attend medical school, rather than becoming another killing machine, despite the fact that he’s killed his fair share, and still would if warranted.
With his medical practice on the cusp of opening to the public, you’d think that he’d be too busy to juggle appointments with taking down Morgan City’s corrupt. However, because nothing was more important to him than his family, there was always time to protect the people he loved. Plus, let’s not forget the woman who had made the mistake of forgetting that he was a Benetti.
Cora
As the only woman currently juggling her job and the headache of hospital politics, Cora Russo knew all about what it took to keep your eyes on the prize. As a nurse for one of the busiest hospitals in Morgan City, Cora knew that it wasn’t always about the patients, even though it should be. Still, she loved her job and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Plus, she was good at it.
With her dedication noticeable by everyone, including the hospital’s board, Cora is invited to attend a gala that’s honoring Morgan City’s finest first responders and community workers. Honored, if not exactly thrilled, she graciously accepts the invitation, and even has a date. However, when one of Morgan City’s Mafia princes objects to her choice of date, she’s forced to take off the blinders.
When both sides have their reasons...
Though his family was in the middle of an epic cluster%^@!, when Daniel finds out that he’s on the wrong end of what he’d believed was obvious, he tackles the delusional spitfire in his bed, opening up his clinic, and taking down a corrupt prosecutor, all with the confidence of the Benetti that he is.
Though she’s always been rooted in common sense and had a job that forced her to take life seriously, when Cora finds out that her quest for a little fun is the most serious thing she’s ever done, she quickly realizes that she should’ve stuck with her gift of common sense.
When the lines between safety and recklessness begin to blur, Daniel and Cora find themselves in a delicate situation that can only end one way, and spoiler alert: Benettis never lose.
NOTE: This is not a standalone work. It is the fourth book in a continuous story that spans five books and can be considered a cliffhanger.
*NOTE: This book contains adult language, adult situations, explicit sexual encounters, and delicate subject matter. If sensitive to any of the aforementioned issues, please do not purchase.

Author’s Note
Just a couple of things before I let you go and get your read on. While I am doing my best to work with better editing and proofreading software, all my books are solo, independent works. I write my books, proofread my books, edit my books, create the covers, etc. I have one beta who gives me feedback on my stories, but other than that, all my books are independent projects.
That being said, I apologize, in advance, for the typos, grammar inconsistencies, or any other mistakes I may make. Since writing is strictly a hobby for me, I haven’t looked into commitments in regard to publishers, editors, etc. My hope is that my stories are enjoyable enough that a few mistakes, here and there, can be overlooked. However, if you’re a stickler for grammar, my books are probably not for you.
Also, I am an avid reader-I mean an AVID reader. I love to read above any other hobby. However, the only downside to my reading obsession is when I fall in love with a series, but I have to wait for the additional books to come out. And because I feel that disappointment down to my soul, when I started publishing my works, I vowed to publish all books in my series all at once. No waiting here…LOL. Now, the exception to that will be if enough readers request additional stories based off the standalone, such as in Facing the Enemy. At that point, if I decide to move forward with a requested series, I will make sure all additional books are available all at once. As much as this is a hobby for me, I am writing these books for all of you, as well as myself.
Thank you, for everything!

Storyline Notes:
Dear Reader…because a next generation storyline had never been planned for this series, I had given the Benetti Crime Family a boatload of offspring, never imagining that I’d be writing their stories one day. However, like most of my book series, you have my beta to thank for all the additional stories that have come your way (and will probably continue to come your way).
So, because there are so many characters to this family, I have put together a family lineage breakdown of who married who and which children belong to which couple. If you are new to this series and have not read the parental series, that’s okay. You do not need to read The Holy Trinity Series, The Holy Trinity Duet, or first The Holy Trinity Next Generation Series to read this series. However, it does help the story flow better if you are familiar with the parental characters, as well.
The following is the breakdown of the entire series’ first and second generations.

Prologue
This time, as I stared at my signature, it felt like more than just my signature. The property had been purchased, all the permits had been signed, all the legalese had been taken care of, and the next step had been set in motion with the simple swipe of a pen.
Antonio and I were
