    My time is near.

    Inside the shack that I've had to sit in for the past three days, my stomach turns into knots over and over again.

    I can hear the wind blowing outside, a strong gale of dust and debris. I don't bother trying to look through the windows anymore. There's nothing to see but darkness. The occasional bright white light appears every now and again, but most of the time, there's only darkness.

    I'm not the only one in the shack. There's three other people sharing this space with me. A man with black hair and beard wearing a three-piece business suit, an elderly man with wrinkles on every inch of his face, and an ebony woman, clutching at her rosary and whispering a prayer. She had been praying almost nonstop since we were brought in.

    I didn't have the heart to tell her her prayers were useless.

    The door slammed open with a sudden movement that made me jump. By the intake of breath and the whimpers I heard, I wasn't the only one who had been shocked by the sudden noise. My stomach clenched again. A voice
