CHAPTER 1

Slowly climbing out of bed, trying to reorient where she was and who is the man sleeping next to her, was a very frightening thought that flashed pass Jacqueline’s mind. She caught a glimpse of the clock on the wall, and it appears to be 3am. She recalls attending a party and having her fifth glass of red wine. Her phone was on the floor, she quickly picked it up and started to make her way to the room door, hoping that it was the way out of the room. Phew! I am out, she thought. Putting on her shoes and scanning the room at the same time. Ah! Its Andrew’s house, I think, said Jacqueline to herself.

Last night was a blur and keeping it that way was not really an option, considering her new role as Chairperson of a multimillion-dollar company on the outskirts of Los Angeles and the launch of a significant product just a couple of months away. With phone in hand, she called her assistant who was prompt in picking up.

Where are you, Joseph? asked Jacqui (short for Jacqueline – as all her friends call her Jacqui).

Joseph, I need you to come and get me, as quickly as you can please. expressed Jacqui. Like now, please!

I am right outside in the car, waiting for you. replied Joseph.

Jacqui ran down the hallway to the front door and thankfully it was unlocked, she ran out and saw Joseph sitting in the car in the driveway.
