In Loving Memory
JB,
Meeting you was destiny and loving you was inevitable. You were my moment in time that divided my life into two worlds, before you and after you. When I saw only clouds, you opened my eyes to the sun, moon, and stars. We loved unconditionally and completed each other. The hardest part of losing you is knowing our story was not finished, so I keep turning the pages of my life with you always in my heart certain that our love goes on.
I loved you then,
I love you still,
I will love you always.
For Linny,
We have been best friends since the moment we met in eighth grade. We have been sidekicks and confidantes from the very beginning. You understood my journey with him because you knew my heart. Your beautiful heart and soul listened to me without judging and loved me without conditions. My soul sister and true friend, I love you.
Introduction
I underwent an emotional metamorphosis over a two month period. My journey allowed me peace that I never thought possible. I finally unlocked memories that for years I refused to think about. I was compelled to put into words my thoughts and feelings about an exceptional time of my life so as to not be locked away again. My hope is that this memoir is read without judgement, condemnation, or negativity. But instead, I hope readers feel my words in their heart.
Is anything more exhilarating than taking a gamble? For it is often the highest risk that carries the greatest reward.

My early 30’s brought me an unforeseen test of faith, patience, and strength. I found myself divorced and penniless with the sole responsibility of raising my two young daughters. My determination and mindset to be the bread-baker and the bread-winner for my children was my top priority. I knew my challenge would be difficult and time consuming, so dating was entirely out of the question. Conversely, about a year and a half into my new lifestyle, I literally bumped into a man at a school function. I was immediately attracted to him but quickly dismissed my thoughts. Over time his relentless pursuit and charm made me surrender. Our relationship flourished. Two people who once were lost in a storm became more than just mere soul mates. Our
