Universal Holistic Philosophy
()
About this ebook
Most of us have been trained by schools and universities as to what scientific and historical truths are supposed to be. However, I maintain that much of what science and history teaches us is in error because the proponents of different points of view have too narrow an understanding of the truth that reality presents.
This narrow point of view also limits our understanding of many issues. The theory of plate tectonics is a good example. First proposed in 1915 it took fifty years to find acceptance as scientific evidence was slowly unearthed to support it.
The same thing is true with the questions being asked today about subjects like the paranormal, longevity, ancient history, and much more
I call this new view of Reality “Universal Holistic Philosophy” (UHP) based on the concept that it takes many different pieces of information from diverse subjects and viewpoints to generate real understandings of certain phenomenon.
The purpose of this book is to review some of the examples I’ve experienced to show how a Universal Holistic Approach (UHP) to different topics can generate these new understandings.
In essence Universal Holistic Philosophy (UHP) is all about combining disparate sources of information and different perspectives to generate creative and out-of-the-box conclusions and theories which may be a lot different than conventional thinking and may shed light on answers nobody has really thought about.
This book explores many of these concepts and how they came about. First we examine what are the steps to learning how to think in UHP terms. Then are the cases I’ve experienced of UHP thinking from researching and writing my books.

Universal Holistic Philosophy - Martin Ettington
Most of us have been trained by schools and universities as to what scientific and historical truths are supposed to be. However, I maintain that much of what science and history teaches us is in error because the proponents of different points of view have too narrow an understanding of the truth that reality presents.
This narrow point of view also limits our understanding of many issues. The theory of plate tectonics is a good example. First proposed in 1915 it took fifty years to find acceptance as scientific evidence was slowly accumulated to support it.
The same thing is true with the questions being asked today about subjects like the paranormal, longevity, ancient history, and much more
I call this new view of Reality Universal Holistic Philosophy
(UHP) based on the concept that it takes many different pieces of information from diverse subjects and viewpoints to generate real understandings of certain mysterious phenomenon.
The purpose of this book is to review some of the examples I’ve experienced to show how a Universal Holistic Approach (UHP) to different topics can generate these new understandings.
I would like to think that in the over 100 books I’ve written on a variety of subjects that I’ve been able to develop and propose some innovative ideas and theories and that I was able to do so by utilizing Universal Holistic Philosophy.
Then are the cases I’ve experienced using UHP thinking from researching and writing my books.
The realizations developed from this work are pretty unique in many cases too.
2.0 Factors Needed for UHP
One of my biggest concerns today is that young people are grow up living in Mental Straightjackets
by being taught things which are partial truths or truth being obscured by societal assumptions which may be wrong or partial truths in many cases. There is a real need for more broad minded learning and a better habit of skeptical inquiry for things we are taught in schools, universities, and society in general.
There is also the problem that many young people are taught politically
correct science which may not be backed up by facts. I site Manmade Global Warming
as a good case in point. Without discussing the whole issue here there is a distinct lack of science in discussions about this while many scientists and politicians have taken positions based on their funding interests. Also the fraud which exists in altering fundamental temperature data has distorted an objective view of this subject.
My approach to learning and seeing the world in a better light is what I’ve named the Universal Holistic Philosophy
or UHP and in this chapter we look at what are the detailed steps for learning to see the world from this broader and more open minded perspective. This is all while maintaining logic and a scientific minded skeptical inquiry on what is the truth.
2.1 Interests in the Unknown
The first requirement of a UHP thinker to have curiosity about the unknown and mysterious things which happen to you in your life or what you have learned which seems strange.
The moment in my life when this first occurred was when I read the book Stranger Than Science
by Frank Edwards in the early 1960s. This book was full of strange and unexplainable stories and it really peaked my interest in all things unexplained. I think this led me on my life’s quest of understanding the strange and weird things in this world of ours.
Not just accepting what you are taught in school is key. Validating what teachers and books tell you with your own inquiries is extremely important.
2.2 Science Fiction and Fantasy Are Important
Another vehicle I’ve found extremely useful is to read a large amount of Science Fiction and Fantasy books. I started with Comic Books and then graduated to full books as I grew into being a teenager.
Since that time I’ve read literally thousands of Sci Fi and Fantasy books which has exposed me to a huge number of concepts in the realm of all that I write about which includes some of these fields:
Longevity & Immortality
Super Intelligence
Futuristic Technology
Paranormal Abilities
Aliens & UFOs
Alternative Dimensions
Time Travel
Monsters and Cryptozoology
Fantastic Realms
Spiritual Evolution
Unusual Social Developments in Society
I would also add any unusual concept you can think about is probably part of my reading history.
This long reading history has caused me to be open minded when I hear new concepts and to not throw them out because of previous biases, but to consider the logic of what I’m being told to see if the idea makes any kind of sense. Many very strange ideas have turned out to be true over the ages. You should view new ideas and concepts skeptically, but make sure your bias is not controlling your thinking.
2.3 Getting a Good Education
Having a good education from Primary and Secondary schools, to University is also important. I admit I’m biased to my engineering education because this gave me a grounding in what conventional science and technology understands. This also includes the limits of what our Science and Engineering can’t go beyond.
Next is part of a chapter from my first book titled On Using the Scientific Method to Study the Paranormal
