Preface
Infections which are more dangerous to the human population, spread rapidly unless the human behaviour is controlled. Law controls human behaviour; therefore, law can be effectively used to prevent the spread of infections.
The book is focus on the laws related to prevention and control of contagious diseases like Corona virus disease. The Quarantine Ordinance and its regulations published in the gazette No. 7481 of 28.08.1925 are the main laws relating to control and prevention of contagious diseases within Sri Lanka. Therefore, this book is mainly focused on the regulations published in the gazette No. 7481 in 28.8.1925 (as amended time to time) which is referred as ‘The Regulations’ throughout this book.
The quarantine Ordinance and its regulations are one of complex laws in Sri Lanka due to its language and considerable number of amendments. This book analyses this law to explain it more clearly and simply.
