About this ebook

Take a journey with a mother of two children: an autistic son and a daughter, whom died unexpectedly before birth. Travel along in this mother's journey in faith with her son and a daughter whom she longs to hold in her arms. It is a story of how motherhood vaulted her into a deeper understanding of her Catholic faith and means to practice it with great love and devotion. Imagine losing a child and trying to figure out why and how God could let that happen. Her motherhood was the catalyst in keeping her from losing her faith altogether. The suffering of her mother's heart helped to deepen her faith and create an intimate relationship with God, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints. Learn how faith plays an important part in our daily lives. Come read and believe!

    Dedication

I pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit while writing this narrative of my journey to strengthen faith of all those seeking more and help those who have no faith, find it.  May all my words be true and faithful to their account as to the events and how they transpired. I consecrate this book and all that comes from this book to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Union with Holy Trinity of God the Father in Heaven.  May it be for His Glory!

As inspired through prayer, I dedicate this book to the Holy Cross Senior Class of 2010, Coach Kozerski and all his assistants, Clay Eifert, may he rest in peace, and Terese Meeks, along with all the staff of Holy Cross High School.  I give special thanks to Father Robbins and Father Jacob Varghese and Father Jeff VonLehmen for their part in this journey.

I would like to formally thank the intercession of dear sweet Audrey Santo in taking my prayers to the throne of God.  Thank you my dear child for your help.  May this intercession bring more light to the Glory of God. Most of all thank you Heavenly Father for all.  I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

    Introduction

In compiling this book, I have come to realize, it really is a small excerpt of a much bigger journey, the journey of life, but not just mortal life, rather eternal life.  I often say life is like a grain of sand.  When you hold a grain of sand against the sky you see just how small it is compared to the immensity of the never ending sky.  This is much like our life.  We as humans have our minds bound to just that – life and death.  But this is not so, there is life after death.  Resurrection!  If you do not have faith, then where does your life lead after that?  If there is no God, then is that all there is?  No.

In short, I have been seeking this life.  I want to get to heaven.  There is no short road, just the narrow one that has been clearly laid out for us.  We all have a free will choice to believe or not.  For my part, I want to believe and so I say, Jesus, I believe, but help my unbelief.

    Foreward

There are so many people in my life that have played a part in this journey.  Some of the most important people, are the priests in my life that, although they may not know it, have changed my life by their yes to God.  There are friends, like Therese, Joan, and many others.  The homeless man I passed by on the street.  We are the body of Christ.  St. Paul tells us, that what one part of the body does, affects the other parts.  This is true. Most of my journey though is really inspired by the greatest author of all time, The Most Holy Trinity.  Our pastor, Fr. Jeff VonLehmen said in one of his homilies, to help you understand the Holy Trinity, I will light this candle.  The light is God the Father, the fire is the Son and the warmth we experience from the candle is the Holy Spirit.  I pray the Lord will reveal himself to you in the written narrative that is a compilation of moments in my life where, Light shined, the Fire kept burning and Warmth of love strengthened.

May the Lord bless your journey forward!

    My Mother’s Journey With Nick

As I stood looking at the railing watching the bittersweet congratulatory crowd, I realized the end had truly come to a new beginning that would show the fruits of the road traveled.  I watched my son mingle
