A lovely book, even if the text. Is a bit stilted. A Hindu family is preparing for the Spring festival of Holi, which involves choosing and making a color to throw, smear or daub one another with. A young girl is unhappy with the color she draws, but then is reminded what the festival is all about: Love. The illustrations are dynamic and beautiful, with vibrant colors. The story is told in a rather matter of fact way, but it gets the point across.
