    Foreword

Life can be considered as a journey one does travel. The rites of passage for travels include; roads, trails, paths, rails, and patterns. There are several reasons for the purpose of journeying.

A myriad of explorations we discover along the way. However, the ultimate is to arrive at our destination safely. Destination reflects a sense of destiny, a long-anticipated place of aim, focus, discipline, and fulfillment. Subsequently, one seldom asks themself, how do I get there? how will I know I’ve arrived? Indeed, you will find the answers to these and other questions in this book.

You see, the connections we choose or make are essential. These connections will either propel us or repel us. In this exhilarating, insightful literary project, Destiny Connections, Bishop Eric K. Clark equips us with principles of inspiration. The type of principles of determining good connections vs. bad connections, how our connections affect our direction. Just to mention a few. Personally, may I say that my life has been transformed for the better. After years of listening to cassette tapes, as far back as in the mid-’90s. I would track and trace the ministry teachings of this Great Leader. It was in 2007 when I officially made a connection with Bishop Clark. Ironically, the theme of the conference was Destiny Connections. Since then, this wise man of Faith and Power has mentored me, Blessed my wife and 4 children, counseled me through major business decisions and strategies. Additionally, he has exposed me to travels throughout these United States and beyond the borders as far as Canada, Paris, Amsterdam, West Africa. Without fail, I have made a Destiny Connection. Ladies and Gentlemen, buckle your safety belt as the most guided Bishop Eric K. Clark compass us toward Destiny Connections.

    Introduction

The world we live in is a world of connections. From education to transportation, making the right connection is imperative. One of the most annoying experiences is to have a phone call with a bad connection. Not only is effective communication challenged, which is the most vital interaction of human existence, but the possibility of miscommunication comes into play when a bad connection is encountered. People now connect through social media platforms, which raises the questions: How does the way we connect affect the quality and purity of the connection itself? Can we truly experience the deep connection through computers and phones that we get from face to face interaction and personal involvement? Or, have we become content with connecting and interacting with people on a level that doesn't involve emotional attachment and accountability? Levels that don't allow growth and covenant, even the issues of honesty and integrity, could be sacrificed through some of our interactions' platforms.

With this in mind, how does one find a Destiny Connection? You know, develop the kind of relationship that lasts a lifetime, a friendship that allows growth and endures strain, or a business partnership that yields years of gain and success. With technology advancement, are we headed toward a more virtual world, with virtual friends and relationships? Will we have college graduates with virtual knowledge that work virtual jobs serving people virtually? Or is there still a need for the kind of impartation that comes from personal interaction and the human touch?

In this book, I'll explore these concepts and many others to raise awareness of the world's direction and the speed of its change. Reading this book will also illuminate how important connecting with the right people the right way can bring the strength of longevity, the depth of trust, and finally, the fulfillment of Destiny.

    Chapter 1

    People Are Important

I’m sure some would wonder; why there needs to be a chapter in a book addressing the importance of people? Well, strangely, companies, businesses, and society in general seem to be moving away from this fact. As we see, millions of jobs are being lost to automation and robotic technologies, more and more people are going to school online without the presence of a person to teach. Cars are now being designed to drive themselves, cargo ships navigate themselves, and drone planes now play a large part in our military scheme. If you go to the grocery stores, most of them are outfitted with self-checkout devices, and even the local bank tellers are becoming a thing of the past. With the way things are going, the importance of people seems to be on the decline.
