I have always written about anything and everything, and what I mean by this is that I have tried to write about many different themes in many different styles because that is what life is; a broad experience with joy, frustration, calm, love, pain and sometimes all at the same time. My work is about people and what we might feel and experience across the course of our lives, and the world we live in, the world we are making and the world we will leave behind and the emotional shadows within those moments.

My book is a collection of poems I have written over many years; it’s a life captured within a book.

Dive in and make time to look back, but importantly, always make time to look forward as well.

My name is Kevin Eagles, and I have written poetry for the last 30 years over a range of themes, this anthology covers these 30 years of experiences and thoughts sculpted into poems. I have always been enthralled by language and especially poetry, the skill of a poet to capture moments and replay them back using specific words and form has always captivated me.My mum, who was Persian and came to England in the 1950s inspired me when she used to read Hafez, Rumi and Omar Khayyam to me as a child, that lit a flame that grew throughout the rest of my life.My favourite poets are W. B. Foreword

Thank you for taking the time to read my work. I have always written about anything and everything, and what I mean by this is that I write about many different themes in many different styles because that is what life is to me; a broad experience with joy, frustration, calm, love, pain and sometimes in successive moments.

My work is about people and what we might feel and experience across the course of our lives with regards the world we live in, the world we are making, the world we will leave behind and the emotional shadows within all those moments.

Dive in and make time to look back, but importantly, always make time to look forward as well.

Lastly, I always said that when I published my first book, I would dedicate it to Cherry Boa; someone who gave me the confidence and inspiration to see my potential. Well, this is my second book of poetry and my first one wasn’t dedicated to anyone, so, I dedicate this book to the following people who have helped me along the way: Cherry Boa, my mum Nini, my dad Brian and my family. I would also like to dedicate this book to Lolo for the encouragement and support you have provided with this body of work; and lastly I’d like to thank the inspirational Trigo, who raised an empire from dust, not just once, and not just twice, but on numerous occasions.
