It's in the Stars - Myrna Joy Hall

    Acknowledgments

With a grateful heart, I give special thanks to my husband, Dennis, whose support enabled me to write this book. To my friend and former student, Barbara Smith, my editor whose expertise turned my mess into a manuscript. And to my best friend, Barbara Heussner, who gave me the inspiration for the artwork on the front cover.

    Introduction

After years of reading my daily horoscope and charting my astrological chart, I felt led to research the origins of astrology, the zodiac, and its constellations. What I discovered changed my life. With this manuscript, I am like a farmer planting his seeds. A farmer prepares his field before planting by removing any stones, pulling up any weeds, and fertilizing the soil. So I, like a farmer preparing his soil, pray your minds and your hearts will be open to receive and understand this beautiful story God wrote for each of you personally in His stars.

The Zodiac. Does the placement of certain stars control the effects on an individual’s personality and future? Or does that same placement of certain stars declare God’s message of redemption to mankind? Your story or God’s story? Astrology or the story of Jesus Christ written in the stars?

The purpose of this teaching is to open your eyes to God’s truth written in His stars and thereby set you free from Satan’s deceptive religion, astrology. To put it bluntly, the zodiac is not about you; it’s about Jesus. For years after I was a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian, I believed the constellation Libra controlled my personality, my daily life, and my future. In fact, I was proud to say that I was born under the sign of Libra. What follows is the discoveries of my research for the truth of the zodiac and its constellations.

On the fourth day of creation, God created the stars and set them in place: Genesis 1:14-15 (NKJV) says, "Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,’ and it was so."

Psalm 8:3 says, "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place…" God, by his fingers, set the stars in place in a certain order so that they might announce to the entire world the glory of Jesus Christ. From the very beginning of creation, God intended that the stars of the constellations have the specific purpose of expressing, recording, and conveying an extraordinary message. For centuries the zodiac has been left almost entirely to astrology and the horoscope, which has perverted the science of astronomy and done immeasurable damage to the souls of men. Cicero himself, in translating the account of the constellations by Aratus, says, The signs are measured out, that in so many descriptions divine wisdom might appear.¹ Divine wisdom? First Corinthians 1:24 (NKJV) says, "…but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God."

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name (Psalm 147:4).

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

    Psalm 19:1-4

The stars in the heavens are proclaiming the glory of God. Who or what is the glory of God? The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word (Hebrews 1:3). The zodiac with all its beautiful signs constitutes the primeval Bible: a divine record of the true faith and hope of man, the oldest in human possession. Think of this: The stars speak the Word of God in every language on the earth without uttering a sound! In full harmony with the written Word, night after night, the stars hold forth their pictorial showings to corroborate the testimony of the prophets and apostles that man might learn wisdom, understand God’s purposes, and receive hope. Every star in the zodiac is designed to speak of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The word zodiac is thought to have come from the Greek root word zoe, meaning life,
