INTRODUCTION
Suffering in Silence
S uffering in silence is not a matter of why? But when? Almost everyone at some time or other has an experience or experiences where he or she cannot say anything as situations arise. Yes, there are some strong-willed persons who will always be combative, and so they do not take the sitting position. They fight to the end, win or lose. There are folks who are in the wrong, but they do not back off.
The rest of us give up our rights for fear sometimes, yes, I say fear. The others of us surrender because it will bring some peace in the situation. It may not solve the problem, but it prevents the problem from exploding. It may give a wrong impression, that we are silly, weak, afraid, cornered or that we may have lost the fight. When I was younger, I heard my parents speaking about, a still tongue keeps a cool head.
There are situations in which we just sit and assess everything.
Then again, there are circumstances where people are physically threatened. Their families or themselves would suffer and even be killed, so they are told to keep the matter quiet. It is as if one becomes a human pressure cooker that is steaming on the inside and there is no outlet, because of fear. This fear is legitimate because one has seen or experience the outcome of similar situations when they escalate.
