    SEEK

The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand (act wisely), who [truly] seek after God, [longing for His wisdom and guidance].

    Psalm 14:2 (AMP)

    DAY 1

    Early Will We Seek Him

O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my
inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for
You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.

    PSALM 63:1(AMP)

There is something within us that yearns for God, a seemingly unquenchable thirst. This thirst is beyond the need for physical water. The insufficiency that we feel is the cry of our inner man, and the only way to be satiated is through the establishment of a relationship with God. He designed us to desire Him, similarly to how a plant needs light and water to survive. If we seek the Lord earnestly and with all our hearts, He will not just soothe our parched souls, but also invite us to dwell in the shadow of His Presence. When we fervently seek God, we discover that He is our refuge and fortress, the one on whom we can rely and trust.

God will direct us on the path to peace, refreshing, and righteousness; a place of relationship, not religion. We only need to turn our hearts, bodies, minds, and souls toward Him and seek to be in His Presence.

    Today’s Prayer

Father, we ask You to fill every gap and empty place in us, as only You can. We invite and welcome You into our lives and ask You to take complete control. Teach us to seek you earnestly, and as we seek, we ask You to reveal Yourself to us that we may find You and dwell in Your Presence. Jesus, our Lord and Savior we surrender to you and as we embark on this journey to relationship, we pray that You shield us from every form of distraction and disruption from the enemy. Let every day bring us deeper into Your presence until we are lost in You; let us drink of the living waters that we may never thirst again. May this be the first day of our transition from where we are to where You want us to be. God, we won’t let go until You change us and infuse us with Your light. Amen.

    Motivation

Establishing a relationship with God is the best decision we could ever make. It will not be an easy journey, but it will be worth it.

    NOTES

    DAY 2

    Great Expectation

Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be
strong and let your heart take courage; Yes,
wait for and confidently expect the Lord.

    PSALM 27:14 (AMP)

God began revealing things to Joseph about his destiny through dreams at a young age. However, a few betrayals and several years of slavery later, everything was contradicting what God had revealed. However, in the end, it all worked out for the good of Joseph and Israel. Why did God choose this route? He chose it to teach Joseph patience. It was Joseph’s patience that enabled him to be in the right posture to fulfill his destiny. During his trial, he had to be patient to obtain the necessary wisdom, knowledge, and strength for his promotion. He had to endure the process for his future to transition from a dream to a reality.

When seeking God, patience is one of our greatest assets. It teaches us how to be receptive to what He is saying or showing us, and it gives us understanding so that we can recognize the ways that He speaks and distinguish His voice. Patience is not just about waiting, but rather our attitude while we wait. We cannot be patient and annoyed or patient and anxious, as these emotions will obscure the lessons we are to learn.

    Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father grant us the gift of patience. We recognize that patience is a necessary and valuable fruit of the spirit to have on our journey as we seek You. Father, we ask you to uproot all seeds of anger, anxiety, and any other thing that would hinder us from finding You and entering Your Presence. Lord, let Your patience guide us to a place of strength, faith and endurance that will lead us to our ultimate purpose. While we wait on Your Timing, grant us wisdom and knowledge to learn the lessons You desire to teach us and grow more in You. Amen.

    Motivation

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV)

    NOTES

    DAY 3

    The Glory of His Grace

God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with
Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—
it is by grace you have been saved.

    EPHESIANS 2:5 (NIV)

The prodigal son is a parable that speaks of a young man who prematurely asks for his inheritance. After his father gave him his portion of the estate, he left and went to a distant country. Subsequently, a series of unfortunate decisions caused him to lose all he had. To survive, he had to complete menial tasks and eat the food of swine. When things worsened, he decided to return home to join his father’s employ as no longer did he see himself worthy of being called a son. While he was still far away, his father spotted him and ran to meet him with outstretched arms. He rejected his son’s request to be a servant, dressed him in fine clothes and jewelry, and celebrated his return.

Our Heavenly Father treats us the same way. He rejoices when we return to Him. When we repent, God remembers our iniquity no more. Like the prodigal son, He restores us to our rightful position as His children.

In His infinite wisdom and abundant love, God created a plan for our salvation, a superior and perfect sacrifice: Himself. To save our lives, God took on human flesh and entered the earth in the form of Jesus Christ. The crucifixion was necessary to redeem us from the fall by replacing the law’s harshness with grace. It is by His grace that our transgressions are covered. Repentance is still necessary but it is accompanied by grace.

    Today’s Prayer

    Father, we thank You that
