    THE DONOR 1

Synopsis: An eleven-year-old boy called Mark Morge is forced to be an assassin for the British government. The government has activated a loophole in medical law. This means secret agents can now legally possess the bodies of donor card carriers.

    The Eilisha Institute Presentation

Twenty-three-year-old politician Jane Black is a candidate to become the next mayor of Gully City. She’s giving a presentation about allowing certain exceptional children who are under the age of sixteen to vote. The previous leader of the opposition died of a sudden heart attack at the age of sixty-one. Jane has been tapped as a potential future prime minister of England.

Mark Morge is a boy of only eleven years, yet he’s won the online game competition called the Assassin’s Wink. It’s not the first time he’s won an online game competition. This young boy is now one of the best gamers in the world.

    8:30 a.m.

A man who calls himself Justin Kase calls on Mark Morge. He point-blank invites Mark to be a real-life assassin. The young, scared eleven-year-old says no. Justin lets him go without an argument.

Instead of going to school, Mark decides to go home to tell his mum and dad about Justin. But before he reaches home, Mark receives a phone call. Justin Kase tells him that he has kidnapped Mark’s parents. He says Mark will never see his family again unless he becomes an assassin for the British government.

As instructed, Mark takes a taxi to the Busman Holiday Travel Agency. Justin Kase is waiting there for him. He takes Mark to the secret level underneath the travel agency, where there is a hidden military base. There, Justin teaches Mark about the new organ-donor laws, which allow secret agents to legally possess the bodies of donor card carriers. He then shows Mark the dial machine that makes it possible for secret agents to possess human bodies. The Syndicate Travel Agency has been possessing civilian bodies with secret agents for some time now. This ultimately means we’ve technically never lost an agent, Justin says.

Mark says, This is wrong, but he’s ignored.

    Trial Run

When Mark uses the dial for the first time, he’s transported into the body of his favourite pop star—the rapper Dude. Mark almost can’t believe it: he looks into a mirror, but doesn’t see his own reflection.

That evening, Mark is forced to play a computer game designed by MI5 for the purpose of training government agents. Mark is warned that clocking it will take awhile.

A few hours later, Justin hears the astonishing news: Mark has finished the game already. How many lives did Mark lose? Justin asks his assistant, Tod Winters.

    None, Tod says.

    Not even one? asks Justin.

    No, the assistant says.

The Syndicate orders Mark to kill a woman named Charlie Sellers, but he refuses because his dad has raised him as a Christian. Later that day, Mark is taken to his crying mother. He’s told she will be killed if he doesn’t take the next case.

The next morning, Mark is shown the news. Last night, Agent Paul Davies assassinated Charlie Sellers—using Mark’s body. Mark is now wanted for murder.

    Agent Paul Davies

An agent with the Syndicate Travel Agency took over the body of Paul Davies after he joined WebPals.com. Through that website, the agency invited him to swap bodies with a millionaire stranger, and he accepted. He used his handsome new body to sleep with his former girlfriend one more time. She had moved to the US—to Dallas, Texas. That very night, Paul was framed for murder.

Two years later, no one knows he’s still alive.

    Hell’s Penthouse

Mark’s first mission is to investigate a woman named Dawn Holyfield. She has registered on the travel agency’s radar. Mark must now find proof that she is part of a cult known as Hell’s Penthouse, which was involved in recent New York and London terror attacks, and both recent terror attacks in Birmingham. The cult’s members aim to destroy the Earth because they believe life itself is evil in nature.

    Dawn Holyfield

Dawn Holyfield owns a patch of land known as the Corridor of Shadows. It’s regarded as holy ground. Many scientists have studied the area because as the sun is setting, it turns into an technology dead spot.

Will it affect me, being in someone else’s body? Mark asks.

Maybe, Justin says, in an unsure voice that lacks confidence.

Justin gives Mark an access code to a bank account with unlimited funds. He tells him to buy whatever he needs—his parents’ lives depend on his cooperation and success.

Unfortunately, you can only stay in a possessed body for two days, Justin explains. After that, you’ll be stuck in that body for life—two people in one body. You do not want that. Tod Winters confirms that the body, Richard Gardener, is at home.

Mark insists he won’t help unless he’s allowed to talk to his parents one more time, and alone. So his parents, who are being kept in a cryogenic chamber, are revived. Then, the confused eleven-year-old tells his dad about Justin Kase and the travel agency. His parents agree that Mark must do what he thinks is right—it’s his call, and his call alone.

Mark is taken away by a security guard. After Justin Kase refreshes Mark on the job he’s been designated to do, he has the security guard force Mark into the dial machine. The next time Mark opens his eyes, he’ll be in the body of a reporter named Richard Gardener.

    Countdown

When Mark opens his eyes, he’s in Richard’s flat. The Dawn Holyfield interview will take place tomorrow afternoon at one o’clock. It’s six in the morning now.

Mark clocked the online driving game Rev three years ago. The first level of this game teaches players how to drive cars. The fourth level teaches players how to fly planes. Instead of going to Bath, Mark goes straight to a police station. However, the dial machine has the ability to monitor Mark’s unique heat signature, so it summons Mark back into his own body before the police can interview him.

Justin shoots Mark’s mother in the arm so that Mark will promise to do what Justin wants. Mark is then returned into the body of the confused Richard Gardener. At that point, he buys a brand-new phone, laptop, and car. Justin insists a rental is all that’s necessary, but Mark doesn’t listen—he buys a brand-new sports car. It’s the least he can do for Richard.

Justin sends Mark a variety of new software for his phone and laptop. He also sends him this year’s swimsuit calendar,
