About this ebook
In this book, Jake loses control of his life when a mysterious energy from an abandoned blue house leads him toward solving a long-forgotten mystery. A paranormal energy from this house took possession over Jake’s mind and body and didn’t set him free until the truth surfaced.
It depends on the individual if they are brave enough to face the truth and suffer the consequences. Jake was brave, he was not afraid to face the consequences of his actions, but some people are not as brave or honest. They will try to hide from their mistakes for as long as they possibly can, no matter how big or small the crime.
Farah Velez
Farah Velez is a thirty-six- year-old US Army Veteran and the mother of a handsome boy and a beautiful girl. She went to South University to obtain her bachelor's degree in business. She became a member of the National Honor Society and the International Honor Society by achieving and sustaining a 4.00 GPA. Farah’s two children are her motivation and her inspiration behind most of her accomplishments and this book. This book is one of the imaginative stories Farah created to entertain her children. Farah relates to this story because she had moved multiple times in her life and had come across many spooky-looking abandoned houses but not as spooky as the house in this book. Farah worked on this book for six months, and whenever she had a writer’s block, her children brainstormed with her about many different ways to go with the storyline. Her children love this story, and Farah loves the parts when Jake enters the abandoned house for the first time. She loves the details and slower pace of the scene to give it an eerie feeling.

J AKE WALKED INTO his
empty apartment after school. His parents were at their jobs. As usual, he hung his key on the hook on the wall, next to the main door, and put his book bag down below the keys on the floor. Rummaging through the kitchen cabinets, he found a bag of chips to calm his hunger since dinner was a few hours away. He sat comfortably on his couch with a blanket over his lap and turned the TV on; one of his favorite shows had already started. He enjoyed his shows, his snack, and his time of solitude.
As the TV played something funny, Jake’s laughter filled the living room. He laughed and laughed, and when he wasn’t laughing, he ate his chips, a very enjoyable time he had created for himself, and it was still a few hours until his parents came home from work. Jake was lost in his own world of laughter and good time when he heard a slow rattling sound outside of the main door. Jake couldn’t think of anyone who could be at the door around this time. He stopped eating and grabbed the remote to lower the volume on his TV. Sitting up on the edge of the couch, he looked at the door and listened to the sounds carefully. The sounds got faster in seconds, and he heard mumbles at the door but very vague to tell what was being said. Before Jake could prepare himself for what was on the other side of the door, the door opened quickly. Jake was very scared because that had never happened to him before, so he didn’t know what to expect. The door opened wide, and he realized that it was his parents. They came home early from work, and they had great big smiles on their faces, which contagiously brought a big smile on Jake’s face, even though he wasn’t sure why his parents were home early and why they were so happy. His parents saw him on the couch and paused for a few seconds as they started at him, still smiling.
We’re finally moving!
Jake’s mother yelled out before his father could.
His father looked at his mother and smiled.
What, really?
Jake said while searching for assurance on his parents’ faces.
The parents joined Jake on the couch and gave him a tight hug. Jake was even happier now that his parents were home and with good news as well. He was relieved that it was just them at the door.
Jake lived with his mother and father in a very small apartment in the middle of the city. It was just the three of them with no other family members close by. This family was advancing, achieving, and working hard toward the good life. His parents worked hard toward bettering their future, and they knew that good living was right around the corner for them, and Jake was especially excited to finally see it.
Jake was a fourteen-year-old boy, who loved his parents, and was enjoying his teenage life. Physically, he looked like what a normal kid in high school would look like. Talking about his physical features, he had brown eyes and brown hair, a few inches taller than his mother and a few inches shorter than his father, a social butterfly who could light up any place he steps into, and very optimistic about life in general. Their apartment didn’t have much space, this family didn’t have much, but he was still a very happy child and loved his place in this world.
On the weekdays, he walked to school with his parents, and after school, he walked back home with some friends. Their Saturdays were reserved for the family’s fun days. They would go to different places to explore, enjoy, and just have fun in any possible way. They would do something small, like a short walk in the nearby park, or something big, like going to an amusement park. They ended their Saturdays with dinner at restaurants of Jake’s
