About this ebook
Times as a symbol of mourning or repentance.
When someone wanted to show a repentant heart
He would often wear sackcloth and sit in ashes
and put ashes on the top of his head.
My poems are about a number of things that go
along with this.

Sackcloth and ashes were used in Old Testament
times as a symbol of mourning or repentance.
When someone wanted to show a repentant heart
he would often wear sackcloth and sit in ashes
and put ashes on the top of his head.
My poems are about a number of things that go
along with this
Flesh of Mine
Oh, flesh of mine, what a traitor you are,
it seems we can never agree.
The more I try to sooth your lusts,
the more it takes to satisfy thee.
When to the good my soul is yearning,
And in humbleness I would abide.
That’s when you rear your ugly head,
With all your pompous pride.
When temptation comes a knocking,
My soul resisting all the more.
It is you oh flesh that weakens,
As you open up the door.
Used to Be

She usually visits with me.
Just long enough to let me know,
She is the girl I used to be.
Sometimes I see her knowing look,
Then a thought to me is sent.
Did I become the woman?
That she thought I might have been.
