About this ebook

This is my third book in a series of diary type entries about the progress of my Alzheimer’s disease since December 2017 when it was first diagnosed.

I have changed my opinions about doing better with nostrums and vitamins. There is no cure. One reason I changed my mind is that I have done so well during the third year.

I do believe Namzaric, getting cholesterol and blood pressure low with medicine is key to preventing stroke and a sudden decline in mentation. I published my lab results which I usually get every three months.

My next book will be titled: Alzheimer’s is Inexorable. Year Four. Let’s see if my title is premature.

    INTRODUCTION

This book is a unique document of how I can live a fairly normal life three years into my diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. My goal is to give people with early Alzheimer’s hope. Three years ago I was worried I would not be able to follow the Presidential election this year.

I saw graphs showing Namzaric losing its benefit after 2 years. While not a flashy production I believe this book is groundbreaking. People can have hope when they first get the diagnosis that they still have years of good living ahead based on my experience.

If I had this book available to me I would have had much less anxiety in the early days of my diagnosis. The diagnosis was such a heavy burden for me that I titled my first book, I am waiting for when I forget I have Alzheimer’s.

This book will be challenging for the reader when I cover my lab results. I believe the lower the LDLc the better. I spend a lot of time on cholesterol to teach people the details of goals and the different aspects of the lipid panel.

Stroke can cause a dramatic drop in the progression of Alzheimer’s Unfortunately, much of the social media believe statins make dementia worse which is not true. The so-called mental fog with a particular statin may be true for some individuals but can be remedied by switching to another class of statin and lowering the dose.

I also go into the details of my 16 medications and supplements.

This is a complex tale of doing what I think is best for me.

My Diabetes Mellitus type two with the addition of my APO E genetic profile may be the main reason I developed Alzheimer’s. Once the diagnosis of Diabetes is made the patient should not leave the Doctor’s office without five new prescriptions. Aspirin, Metformin, Ramipril, Statin, and maybe Invokana.

With the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, I added Namzaric and Citalopram.

For supplements, I take more than I ever have on the outside chance they may help and probably not hurt.

I have always taken Vitamin D but I increased the dose.

    Take Magnesium for leg cramps.

Multivitamin Centrum Silver because I am always on a
