PROLOGUE
E very one of us has a secret they keep from others, and sometimes they keep it from themselves, hiding the secret deep within for many reasons. The main reason could be a fear of a reoccurring event to occur and torture the person’s mind from sorrows, misfortune events, and from scars that have not healed—creating post-traumatic experiences, shaping one’s character and persona lity.
Liam is a young boy who encountered many tragical events that shaped his understanding, enabling him to mature before his age, taking on responsibilities, and tackling every obstacle that he encounters. Having to deal with a traumatic experience can alter a person’s perspective from their reality. The hardest obstacle he encountered was losing his parents in a mysterious murder allowing him to take on many adventures to reach those who committed the crime.
His faith and patience are what he carried with him throughout the years. Believing with his capabilities even with failure, he does not wait for the appraisal of those around him, and he does not give up on the thought of him avenging his parents.
Many mysteries will unfold in the chapters within.

N o! Don’t s hoot!
.
My mother’s shaking voice yelled between the hallway, while her tears ran down her rosy red cheeks. My father laid there beside her, helpless to act with tears in his eye.
That is the last memory I have of my parents, a captivating memory my mind will never erase. Whenever I remember my parents, I attempt to dismiss that photographic memory of them laying on our lounge room floor helpless and weak. I try to remind myself of all the enjoyable moments we once shared.
I was born in a very small family; I was an only child. My father would constantly call me the chosen one.
This was mainly due to the fact my parents had been married for over a decade before I arrived; after several failed attempts of conceiving a child. They sought everything the doctors recommended, they even had three failed IVFs, to the point when the doctors, as well as my parents, lost all hope in conceiving a child of their own.
Should we resort to adopting?
my puzzled father asked.
Honey! We will when the time is right.
My mother answered gently.
They decided to continue with their lives as their love and bond were stronger than anything; traveling parts of Europe together, they went dancing in the rain and did not focus on other worldly matters. They lived each day as it came, claiming today was the present, so it was a given gift.
It was on a cold and rainy day; my mother fainted and was admitted to hospital. My father rushed to her side, only to find out that such a cold night turned their world into a sunny day. My father ran across the hospital corridors yelling with joy.
I am going to be a father! I am finally going to be a dad!
he yelled through the lobby.
He carried my mother in his arms as he twirled her around with tears streaming down his face.
As my mother wiped his tears, she said to him:
I have never seen you cry before.
It is the most indescribable feeling. We have something to look forward to,
he sobbed.
It was at that moment that my parents began focusing on the future, planning baby names, buying a nursery, painting the spare room with bright colors, thinking of what school I should go to, they wanted me to go to a prestigious school.
Every parent yearns for the moment their child is born, to raise them and care for them, to pick the name that most suits them, as well as intensively looking at their features and comparing them to their spouses. Every child is cherished above all others by their parent. We cannot alter the families we are placed in, either way I would not change mine for the world. When I was born all those who visited us said I had a mixture of both my parent’s features. Alleging I had some of my father’s characters, but my mother’s tender eyes.
My parents were not wealthy, they were working-class people. My father owned a toy store while my mother was a teacher at a secondary school, although she gave up her career and dream job to raise me.
As time grew, I would wait by the window to see my aunties’ car pulling up to our driveway. I would run outside to give her a warm hug. She had two children, Kate and Alex. We would play for hours in my backyard, creating stories of our own. They were like the siblings I never had. I would show off all the toys my father would bring home for me and allowed them to play with only a few. Our life was simple and yet filled with serenity and joy. We had the same daily routine, and our days would go by splendidly; up until the day we found out my uncle had passed away. That unfortunate day changed our lives forever.
My uncle was sick, and he had been diagnosed with lung cancer. My father had taken care of all his hospital fees and medications while my uncle suffered
