38767.pngW hen I was a young child, I was happy and very affectionate. Moma and Daddy were both demonstrative in their love for me. Nicknames are given to someone you love; my dad had several nicknames for me. They were Skeeter Bite, Rabbit’s Foot, Woop See Doo, and Squirrel’s Tail. That’s a lot of love. I had a sister who was nine years older than me, but despite our age difference, she played cards and jacks with her pesty little sister and included me in a lot of her activities. This cemented little sister’s devotion. When she married young, I became the only child, and as such, I was certainly spoiled.
We lived on a beautiful, spring-fed lake and had an orange grove on our property. We spent the summers at a beach house Daddy bought for us. When I was nine months old, Moma hired a maid who was to be, among other things, a care person for me. Emma was all of four feet, eleven inches, and became a very special addition to our family.
