About this ebook
Sienna and Beckett are very excited! They’re getting ready to go with their grandparents on a fun and educational trip from their home in Dallas, Texas, to London. They aren’t quite sure what to expect, although they know it will be interesting and fun.
When Sienna, Beckett, Nana, and Papa arrive, the children learn that England is very different from America. But they also realize that many of the people they meet are just like them. Sienna and Beckett each have something they’d most like to do, from dreaming of meeting a real princess to visiting a zoo that helps keep animals from becoming extinct. In addition to their wish list, Nana and Papa want the children to learn about things they can’t see at home. At first, the children think this might be boring—but wait and see if they change their minds! Sienna and Beckett soon find out that traveling is a great way to learn about the world with their own eyes.
This children’s story seeks to help children begin their worldwide imaginary journeys and build a love of travel as they see what is special about each country around the globe.

Dedication
This book is dedicated to my children, Joe and Katie, who became travelers from the day they were born. Their journeys varied from the super economy
high school Europe tour (with Mom as chaperone), to Joe’s China environmental exchange program, to Katie’s three years working with El Salvador’s poorest children.
Later, these two explorers joined me and my husband in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait, where we worked for nearly a decade. Katie attended the Saudi American International School, building friendships with students from forty countries. Joe interned in Saudi, working with people from all demographics, often eating french fries and lamb, cross-legged on a plastic floor mat. Their love of travel and making friends from around the globe never ended as they crisscrossed the world over the years, happily riding camels in Egypt near the Valley of the Kings to thoughtfully walking through the remains of Pompei. Each of these experiences taught them to open their hearts and minds to all people and to see that we are equally beautiful, good, and worthy of respect.
Why London? Great Britain was always a special place for our family. Katie bought her first prom gown at London’s Selfridges, and Joey will never forget his first experience with jet lag.
I also dedicate this book to our darling granddaughter Sienna, who, since she was a toddler, begged for stories about world travel. Her love of hearing about people, geography, history, and culture inspired me to write this book. I predict she will someday work at the United Nations, bringing her openness and love of everything international to the world.
This nana looks forward to exploring the world with all her grandchildren—Sienna, Beckett, Lucy, Joey, and Reed—in years to come.
Special Thanks…
Special thanks to my husband, Lou, who encouraged me to write this book and share our travel stories. He was the publishing production guru allowing me to continue with my consulting work while completing this long-wished-for project. As always, his attention to detail and commitment to quality made the book something we could both love and be proud of.
And warm appreciation to my dear friend Kathleen Logsdon, who took the time and interest to gently edit, being the forever English teacher.
