    Introduction

    Cake Highlights

Do you believe that this book will supply you with a quick lesson on how to make your life easier and problem free? I hope not.

I don’t believe that a problem-free life exists for anyone. And even if it were possible, I’d be the last person to sign up for the course. You see, I don’t get too excited about lessons that are touted as free and easy. And if I took that lesson, I’d be fully absorbed in waiting for the other shoe to drop—if you know what I mean.

But I do get excited about working hard to improve the quality of your life and the lives of others. And I’m really big on making life sweeter—I believe it’s the best way to inhabit and flourish on this planet. So here’s an opportunity for you to ignite your motivation and—

    • Sweeten your life

    • Build your self-confidence

    • Further your career

    • Achieve higher levels of personal success

    • Overcome challenges and help others do the same

In order to accomplish this, you must subscribe to my special recipe and use it as your guide to living. If you follow the recipe, your life will be transformed.

You will also need to commit to a self-directed plan to keep you on track. This plan represents an important part of the journey. It will help you meet the daily challenges that you will encounter and will inspire you to take action.

There is, of course, a price to pay. This endeavor will take time, effort, and dedication. But I am confident that you can meet the challenge.

    Cake

Cake is sometimes sweet, sometimes tart. Some are warm, some are cold, and some are best eaten at room temperature. There are many delicious flavors—chocolate, rum cake, strawberry, lemon. I won’t try to name them all.

We all have our favorite, and that’s what makes the world go round.

What is it about cake that draws us in and sometimes forces us to rationalize away the calories or even blow our diet plans? Is it that feeling of satisfaction we get from devouring it with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee or tea? Whatever it is, it’s had a hold on me ever since I could put a fork into my mouth.

My favorite is pound cake, because it is rich but not too sweet, which describes a large part of my life.

I decided to title this, my second book, Piece a Cake. There are a few good reasons for that. First, I want you to look at life differently, and I want you to find the sweetness in all situations. If you can do this, you will find that your life will become more enriching, more fun, and just downright more satisfying—just like a piece of your favorite cake.

Take a bite and fill your soul with sweet inspiration and life lessons designed to enrich your life’s journey
