Hanni Zhang is an enthusiastic pianist and teacher and is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree at the University of Maryland School of Music in the United States. Hanni presently serves on faculty at the International School of Music in Washington, D.C. She has participated in many worldwide competitions and has gained many awards, including recent invitations to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Hanni’s extensive research on intermediate students’ programmatic music has been recognized for helping many students to overcome practicing and musical plateaus. Her in-depth research on the music of Burgmuller has been instrumental in helping students to understand and appropriately interpret music and accordingly has helped many of her students to achieve international piano competition awards. . Hanni’s mindset of striving for continuous improvement through teaching and practicing sets her apart from her peers and brings immeasurable value to all of her students.
