The Zaca Creek author is a common man that grew up on a Midwest farm in Indiana. After University, he was an educator and coach of young people aspiring to find their way into a life of independence as productive citizens. After moving to California during a recession with limited professional opportunities, he created a family business of design and build. The experiences with government and economics were the fertile ground for the stories told in this fictional Zaca Creek novel. California is a diverse culture of industrious, creative people. The shores and harbors of the Channel Islands near Santa Barbara inspired this story of the Chinese invasion escaping the 13TH Century hordes of Genghis Khan that blended into magnificent Chumash Nation. He has five sons that share DNA from Mom and Dad. Observing the patterns of each son with ancestral influence led to an interest in family ancestry.

    PREFACE

Zaca Creek is a fictional story based upon the evolution of North America. All human beings originated in Europe, Asia, and Africa’s continents. Archeology and anthropology are new categories of historical research. Early human existence reveals all Homo Sapiens evolved three to four million years ago in East Africa, near the Equator.

The history of human beings and all living creatures is recorded in six-hundred million years of the layers of dirt, rock, sand, and stardust. The Cambrian layer contains the first creatures on earth.

When the ice formed on the polar axis beginning 30000 BC, migration from Eurasia began across the Siberia land bridge from Russia to Alaska and Canada. Melting glaciers and a rise in sea levels occurred circa 14000 BC. Animals and birds migrated.

Hunters and gatherers followed their migration patterns from cold climates to warm locations of food and shelter. Asian boatbuilders may have come ashore as the first settlers in Pacific coastal regions of Canada and the Americas. Planet earth’s last Ice Age ended circa 12,000-years ago. Earth is warming, and climate change threatens the planet, animals, and life as we know it.

The oldest Eurasia migrants may have lived on the Pacific Ocean coastlines of the Western Hemisphere. This fictional story highlights ancient tribes living in the Chumash, Aztecs, Maya, and Inca Empires for the Cruz family of Santa Barbara County, USA.

The Barrington family began with two Scottish brothers landing in Boston in 1794 and becoming the grandfathers of Algonquin Indian tribes that married into the Cruz family to form a wealthy, influential family of the American Dynasty of the present day.

As a child attending summer Bible School, we received our first lesson in world history. The story of creation begins in the book of Genesis chapter one-

The heavens and earth were shapeless, chaotic vapors, and matter. God brought light and darkness together to create the first day. God created the sky, the oceans, dry land, planets, creatures that lived in the water and air, animals, and all human beings. All of mankind came from the garden of Eden.

In circa 1440 BC, Moses taught the world without the benefit of scientific information or historical artifacts that planet earth had a beginning with a cycle from creation to extinction. Here we are today living in a complex society of global communities working together by helping each other from birth to death just as God intended.

The Bible is less than 3,500-years old. Life forms appeared over six-hundred million years ago. The scientist cannot describe or predict the time in the future or even in the present. Planet history leaves us with the facts of the truth. What you think and do today will lead you to your future. Every human being is a unique creation, unlike any creature that has lived or will live.

All of God’s creation is unique and different because no two seeds or humans are precisely the same. We are very different individuals, but we are the same body chemistry and DNA.

We prefer governments of a republic with the rule of law in a democratic system. Dictatorships without tolerant provisions will not endure because people pursue life, liberty, and happiness. The planet prefers variety and spontaneity. The seeds of life are unique, and the differences between every living specie strengthen each generation from the beginning of time.

An example in human history of evolution was exposed in 1492 when native American Indians in the Western Hemisphere were invaded by their brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and European cousins that had evolved in two different hemispheres, East versus West. European’s had become immune to many diseases the native Americans had never confronted. Millions of American Indians died after contact with Europeans. This proves we are the same, but we become different culturally and physically from our locations on the planet and our different climates.

The truth of creation is that our species combines similar body chemistry and DNA elements from two separate donors, mom, and dad. Their personal journey from their mother in Africa more than four million years ago created your life with different companions, and your parents were unique creatures also. We share a planet, and we all began as God’s creations in the Garden of Eden.

This story combines migrations and the comingling of parents from Eurasia into North America as the last Ice Age warms the planet. Millions of humans from Eurasia formed families, villages, and Nations of American Indians. They lived as stone-aged communities without wars of mass destruction until the invasion of Europeans beginning in 1492.

America the beautiful, home of the brave was rising out of the wilderness. The native people honored the gifts from their creator and spiritual leader. The water, air, land, and all of that existed was a gift from God to these humble travelers. This magnificent wilderness with rivers, lakes, and a bounty of food was free and shared by all.

How could some monarch or religious leaders own God’s charity? Two worlds with the same ancestors clashed on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Islands. After having the land for centuries, how could they lose it and be cast out of ownership of property and personal freedom?

If you are interested in your personal path of evolution, the following provides a condensed summary for you to explore. We live in an age with world knowledge at the tips of your fingers on a computer keyboard. It is impossible to accurately date evidence that is recorded in the geology of earth’s surfaces. Carbon dating determines how much carbon has deteriorated since the burial of evidence occurred. One hundred percent of the carbon of today will disappear over time.

Please review this timeline of carbon-dated burial sites of humanoids with artifacts of tools, food supply, categories of human evolutions as propagation advanced with the developed among our beginning as a species. This is an example of information you can explore in libraries, published materials, scientific reports, and advance research projects.

Discovery of our history is a very young discipline in our academic institutions. Human beings are God’s creation, and we each deserve respect, honor, and dignity. Racism is a tool of fear and discord of political division. We are all the same yet different and unique.

HISTORY OF ARTIFACTS FOUND RESEMBLING HUMAN BEINGS

    49604.png

The above sample of ten families of human origin illustrates the overlap of species that may have been formed by inter-breeding. Only a DNA sample could verify evolution accurately. We Homo Sapiens thrived long after example seven to ten appeared and became extinct. We thrived as Professor Darwin suspected, the survival of the fittest and the wisest.

No matter what facts or myths you may believe about the creation and extinct process of all life forms, the earth is the capsule of history’s record. The ten species above were discovered and analyzed. They are more similar to each other than they are different. We live in a Universe composed of eighty-five percent dark matter that no scientist can explain or describe. It is faith that God is our creator that binds us together as housekeepers of planet earth.

These charts summarize years of research that found evidence that people began to farm and domesticate stock as food supplies. They formed villages and communities where people specialized and cooperated in Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey. Cities less than ten to four thousand years ago have evidence of cultures developing around the Mediterranean Sea and the Americas.

The history of the world has been improved by the advance of technology and public education. Human ethics and philosophy have advanced with the religious acceptance of God. Governments have advanced from the Greek concept of Democracy and the rule of laws.

The Greek word `demos’ means people. The Greek word `Kratos’ means power. In 507 BC, the leader of Athenian political reform proposed a system of `demokratia’ which implies the RULE OF PEOPLE.

Human nature can be changed. The human spirit is the soul of a person. The spiritual life of a human is often controlled by friends, neighbors, and organizations that you cherish and feel a kinship. We have world experience of good versus evil. When you travel, read, and learn the nature of other groups of humans, your heart feels fellowship with all cultures.

The world is like a small nation that is diverse in races, creed, and nationalities from all parts of planet earth. Every government is stronger and more just when every philosophy is matched to human needs. No government is without democracy, communism, socialism, totalitarian, atheistic, religionist, or a blend of philosophies.

When WWI, (World War I), ended with an unfair treaty that applied the overwhelming punishment of Germany, the world treatment of Germany resulted in doctrines of politics and economics that created a Nation ruled by Nazism and Fascism. Religion and ethnic cleansing were justified by a political party that declared their commitment to racial superiority and supremacy of a chosen fuhrer. The world collapsed because of the unjust agreements ending WWI.

The Zaca Creek story blends the challenges of a family in a world of good versus evil, justice versus crime, and love thy neighbor as you love yourself. Without acceptance of all people on planet earth and your personal knowledge of history, each of us is destined to repeating history in an endless cycle of greed and narcissistic self-indulgence.

    HISTORY OF CIVILIZATIONS OLDEST CULTURES

    49627.png

The North American Empire of today produces four times more Gross National Goods and Services value than the average of all other nations. Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness emerged when New England Colonists developed patriotism, and they drove all foreign powers from influence and interference from our shores. People from every climate, culture, race, and religion bound themselves to the Articles of the United States of America’s Constitution and the rule of law.

Zaca Creek is the ancient land of the Chumash Indian Nation. One tribe that was mistreated by their relatives from Europe for five-hundred years. When they recover their personal self-respect and acceptance of their neighbors as American citizens, America can live comfortably under the umbrella of the US Constitution and the Congressional rule of law in the spirit of our forefathers. The compromises made in the democratic process to form a more perfect union need constant maintenance and revision. Every year, the nation of the United States of American evolves toward God’s planned destiny.

The strongest pillar in America is the family unit. Everyone should value their family, their neighborhood, and their community. Zaca Creek is but one example of this great nation that fights for justice and fairness to economic opportunities based upon human endeavor and individual performance and sacrifice for the future.

Early immigrants from Eurasia created a paradise in America’s wilderness until 1492 AD. What would have happened in the Western Hemisphere if the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans prevented that invasion? American natives that followed the Buffalo and farmed without a Monarch or Supreme Religious Ruler became subjects of Europe’s settlers that declared Divine Providence and Manifest Destiny with their myths of rules and regulations.

A single drop of rain can join Zaca Creek’s tributary flowing into a river that fills an ocean. One immigrant entering a nation can change society for good or evil. Two Scottish brothers arrive in the new world during the formation of these United States of America to begin the creation of the American Empire.

    INTRODUCTION

    THE NEW COLOSSUS

Emma Lazarus was born in New York on July 22nd, 1849, died November 19th, 1887. Emma’s love for the country and citizens of the world inspired this sonnet. Every American’s ancestors began as an immigrant.

The bronze tablet on Ellis Island in the Statue of Liberty Park of New York Harbor displays a sonnet written by Emma Lazarus. The statue was a gift from France. The park opened in 1886. The harbor of New York City was the first stop for immigrants seeking a new home in America. The gift was inspired by a French poet anti-slavery activist after the American Civil War. America is a beacon to the world of a Republic of the People, by the People. Greek ideals of democracy were an experiment, and the French promoted freedom and liberty to the world.

Zaca Creek is a fictional story beginning with the evolution of the United States of America. The first migration of Artic Europeans and Asian tribes across the land bridge between Asia and North America circa 18,000-years ago. America evolved with stone-aged natives sharing the New World discovery by Europeans over 500-years ago.

Europeans possessed the new lands by decree of foreign governments. Europeans became citizens of the New World, and American Indians had to yield all rights to foreign powers. European immigrants claimed divine rights and the manifest destiny and deprived natives of their homes, possessions, and freedoms. Europeans wrote the history of the USA.

In 1776 the motto adopted by the Continental Congress was E PLURIBUS UNUM; Latin words meaning `Out of many, ONE!’

The motto sounds cultural, but it was about money. Each colony’s state government used different currencies. The motto represents the Continental Dollar adopted by Congress.

New England colonists Declaration of Independence from foreign powers. The colonists gained the right to representation and self-government. When the American colonists approved the 1787 U.S. Constitution of America, native American Indians were denied citizenship unless they were married to a USA Citizen.

Indians could not own land and had no American rights or privileges. This loss of property and freedom began a cycle of violence and abuse that has lasted over 500-years.

Many cultures, many languages, many races of human beings formed the Nation of these United States. European immigrants enjoyed citizenship opportunities, while the American Indians formed confederations without citizenship.

Native American veterans of World War I were `offered’ citizenship in 1919. Congress enacted the INDIAN CITIZENSHIP ACT on June 2, 1924. The right to vote was governed by state law, and some state barred Native Americans the right to vote.

After hundreds of years of being homeless in their ancient lands, they found thousands of years ago, the Barrington family has a mission to restore self-respect, dignity, and influence for the original tribes of native ancestors.

    CHAPTER 1

    EVOLUTION OF AMERICA

California winter rains ended eight years of drought. The reservoirs and lakes are filled again. The steelhead trout moves from the Pacific Ocean into rivers and tributaries to breed again. The life cycle of planet Earth continues.

The Santa Ynez Valley was the best steelhead fishing on the central coast until the federal reservoir dam at Lake Cachuma stopped the natural river flow to the Ocean. The upland Santa Ynez River above the dam harbors pockets of trout in canyons pools in the valley mountain range.

The Barrington Sky Ranch is on the crest of the Santa Ynez mountain range overlooking the Santa Barbara Channel Islands. The Barrington Lodge massive timber beam and post porch with views of the Pacific Ocean on Southside and the valley on the Northside.

Pap Barrington bought valley ranches in the early 1950s when he was planning the Interstate Highway system for President Dwight D. Eisenhower beginning in 1955. While the Barrington Engineering Company was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Pap came from a long line of farmers, ranchers, and engineers that pioneered the development of America. The Barrington ranch sat on Camino Cielo mountain road near San Marcos Pass above the Pacific Coast Highway.

Pap Barrington and his seventeen-year-old grandson Sam are on horseback following the trail from the mountain crest through the forest and meadows to Red Rock on the Santa Ynez River below Sky Ranch. They move slowly as the horses maneuver the mountain’s steep trail.

Red Rock was Sam’s favorite fly-fishing pool filled with hungry trout. Sam was excited because he knew that Janeira would be waiting at Red Rock. Janeira Cruz was a tall, athletic teenager with long raven hair and motion picture beautiful. Best of all, Sam and Jan had been inseparable since meeting at Red Rock the summer of their freshman year at Santa Ynez High School.

Every time Sam meets Janeira at Red Rock, his memory of their first meeting floods his mind. He had moved from Chicago to live with his grandfather Pap on the Sky Ranch. Sam was beginning at Santa Ynez High. As his horse found the deep pool at Red Rock, he saw this beautiful girl fly-fishing in a bikini. His horse saw her horse grazing nearby. Sam’s voice echoed in mountain canyon valley when he asked, Have you caught any monsters? The girl never looked at him and answered, I think the monster is approaching on horseback? They became instant friends and companions that summer.

Today was their first day of summer vacation before their Senior Year. They knew they were going to be separated after graduation. Janeira was a bright, aggressive young woman that had scholarships to the University of California in Santa Barbara. She would stay close to home.

Sam and his best friend, Charlie Buell, were enrolled in the Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, after high school. Sam, Charlie, and Janeira were best friends and outstanding student-athletes. The three amigos were helping Pap Barrington refurbish and repair the Barrington Eagle at the Santa Barbara harbor.

Pap and his brother Barron bought the Eagle after World War II and used it for business and family adventures. The Eagle is a Tall Ship with twin diesel engines that can sail the high seas. This Tall Ship was a former British schooner built in the Boston harbor when the British protected the Colonies in the 18TH Century.

Janeira is brushing her horse as Pap and Sam arrive. They dismounted and put their horses out to graze, Pap said, When I see you two together, I miss my sweetheart Kelly. Kelly and Pap were high school sweethearts and Sam’s grandparents. Pap smiled, When we were your age, we spent the summer paddling our canoe up the Fox River from McHenry, Illinois. We paddled the Fox River exploring the trails to Green Bay, Wisconsin. Both you and Janeira are just beginning your lives. Enjoy this summer because carefree living is about to end.

The weather was perfect, and the trout were hungry. Pap began fixing lunch. Janeira said, You are right Pap, Sam will go off to the Naval Academy, and I will go to the University of California. Do you have any advice for us?

Pap hugged her and said, My advice is to be yourselves at all times. Have fun, and don’t look back at your mistakes. Learn from your experiences. Dare to fail without regrets. Prepare yourselves to look for the truth that is hidden in plain sight.

Janeira, Can you give me an example of how to do that, Pap?

Pap, First, learn how your mind works and don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Be observant and let nature and human behavior be your teacher. For me, I remember thinking that I had been born in the wrong period of world history. I thought everything important had been invented or discovered. Little did we know a World War was coming when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. That event changed my life forever.

Sam added, "Albert Einstein was a brilliant mathematician. His gift was explaining scientific theories with math. He wrote a phrase that I adopted as my motto-

`Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you anywhere.’

Well put, said Pap. Always be yourself and learn by analyzing data and patterns of cycles. Our Universe is not chaotic or random. Unseen forces are there for us to discover.

Janeira added, I think I want to understand how civilizations formed and the history of planet Earth, Pap. I plan to major in physics and the applications of quantum mechanics. My science teacher explained that all matter in the universe is composed of eighty-five percent dark matter. No one can define or explain dark matter, but it connects people to everything on the planet and in our galaxy. What if dark matter was a connection with GOD?

Pap, That is a pretty serious topic for a seventeen-year-old woman, Janeira. Janeira, Pap, you know my father, Chuma Cruz. He is an elder and soon to be the chief of the Santa Ynez Chumash Tribal Council, a sovereign nation managed by the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs. We, as a nation, must organize and assimilate with the local cultures. My father has great plans for the rehabilitation of the tribe and to bring economic development to the valley to improve their living conditions. The reservation has no running water, government, or hope for the future. The Cruz family will change the future of our tribe. I want to help my father do that, Pap.

Sam watched his grandfather and Janeira talk. Sam saw Pap’s expression change suddenly. Sam said, See, grandfather, this is why I love this woman? She is beautiful, brilliant, and dedicated to helping others. The teacher she is talking about has opened my eyes to nature, and the rhythm of planet earth continually evolving.

Pap asked, What do you mean continually evolving?

Our teacher is a scientist interested in planet history, said Sam. She explained how most of the planet’s history and the structures are in a forty-one-thousand-year cycle. Planet history is in layers of dirt and rock. For example, said Sam, in 1955, a scientist discovered the burial site of the 2.8 million-year-old Homo Habilis found in Africa. Recently, they found a 3.8 million-year-old burial site of early humanoids.

This chart lists species of Human Beings. All human species are extinct except us, Homo Sapiens. DNA testing reveals we carry ancient genealogy of extinct human species. Homo Sapiens (the Wise) oldest burial site is 875,000 years old. We survived by adapting to Earth and climate change. This is an example that life cycles begin and become extinct. This is the pattern of life, Pap.

Pap Barrington, "You are telling me that Homo Habilis is the oldest human species and it was only found in 1955? So we do not know that much about our planet or the human species. What about my Bible School lessons telling me that God created the heavens and earth in six days, and on the seventh, he rested? Whoa young lady, are you saying the Holy Bible
