About this ebook

We have been shown all we need to grow into a healthy, viable earth community. We either learn and grow with the simple truth of God’s messages, or we lose our tickets to the universe. In The Seeds of Simple Truth, author Verle D. Line offers an honest review of the historical consequences, and often poor end results, of our past and current behaviors and demonstrates the need for God’s simple truth.

Line looks at the real world versus the one humans built. It discusses:

• how much religion has been complicated by human perceptions;
• where we are in the universe;
• how much we think we know and how great is the amount we don’t know;
• the human ego and the vices that inhibit societies growth; and
• the duality of humans in the physical body and an ethereal soul.

The Seeds of Simple Truth explores both the positive and negative sides of our egos. It asks us to reflect on the influence of our egos and vices so we can achieve positive growth. It sends a plea to de-emphasize devotions to our manmade bells and whistles, and instead, place our values on the uncomplicated simple truth.

    The Seeds of Simple Truth - Verle D. Line

    Introduction

    The reader of the ideas expressed in this text will notice the influence of the Christian Holy Bible. That is because this writer was raised a Christian. There are references to the Old Testament that come from the prophecies and prominent figures such as the wisdom of Solomon, etc. Aside from this Christian influence, this writing is not meant to exclude wisdom that is taught to members of other religions.

    There is a common need for humans to understand the purpose for our existence through our created religions. Being the nature of us humans, we tend to complicate our created religions with the addition of our perceptions of what rules and regulations we need to follow. However, Christ’s teaching, and the examples set by his life were in no way complicated. The truth He displayed to us was simple. The author apologizes for the use repeatedly of the term simple truth. However, this is what this writing is all about.

    Christ’s truth flies in the face of the complicated religion He was born into, which was led by flawed humans, with uncontrolled egos seeking the power and wealth that some organized religions give to those charlatan’s who feed on it. An honest look at human history will tell you that most all governments, including occasionally those governing religion, are led by those seeking power and wealth, and unfortunately therefore, the cream of humanity does not necessarily get to the top.

    To understand how simple truth is masked, we need to step away from the image we see of ourselves in the mirror, control our egos, and cultivate humility and SEE. Ask then how much of who we are, and what we do is based on illusions and commonly accepted perceptions that we created. We ourselves created our illusions and perceptions as we developed into our current make-believe, false interpretations of reality. False interpretations supported by the crippling factor of the negative side of our EGO.

    For example, in the formulation of our religions, given our human nature, groups of us decided we needed to add exclusivity to our claim to God and Christ. Then we preceded to add complexity to all of our religions by adding bells and whistles. Then again, due to our human nature, we began to disagree with the type and character of the bells and whistles, and we ended with several denominations of our faiths based on a complicated set of requirements that must be met to be called a Christian, or to claim acceptance of many other beliefs and philosophies.

    Can we use the negative influence of the EGO on Christianity as an example of the paths that many religions or philosophies have taken. Many of the paths taken have turned our religions into thriving businesses providing power and wealth. This has occurred throughout the past in all attempts to understand the nature of God, and in all of man’s search for truth. The wealth and power in all cases have become autocratic, with a complicated set of governing rules. For example, we have created a requirement for an anointed human to intercede between another human and God; thereby, denying the possibility that humans can have direct contact with God, His angels, and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the Simple Truth of Christ comes to us through a special human filter.

    The ideas and subsequent discussions are in no way meant to demean true religion, but to review for us, both the positive and negative sides of our egos. To consider how important it is for us to reflect on the influence of our egos, and on our vices so that we can move in the direction of positive growth. It is a plea to de-emphasize devotions to our man-made bells and whistles, and instead place our values on the uncomplicated simple truth.

    NOTE: The time spent on the content in the following ideas, and discussions are arrogantly lofty for a person who eats three meals a day, can snack at leisure and who has a shelter overhead each night. The discussion is arrogant, because there are countless mini-societies (or cultures) yet in this world whose members’ only concern is survival, and wondering when they will find their next meal. It is also apparent that these ideas express an overwhelming character of optimism. It may be early in Societal Growth to consider them seriously, but when do we start?

    So, it is easy to think about philosophical ideas of simple truth for those of us without a primary concern of survival. However, it is no excuse to ignore the simple truth that would end the disastrous relationships between us within our created boundaries. The thoughts that follow are an attempt to look back and see some examples of that simple truth.

    Religious Search

    A ll true religious search is a search based on a desire for non-judgmental peace, love and acceptance, and a guidance that would lead us to an intuitive feeling of purpose for our existence. The simple answer to truth that is expressed here is based on one man, Jesus Christ, who taught a simple message, and lived it.

    This author was raised in the Christian faith, and so much of the expressions in this writing are based on the truth that is expressed as a basis of all Christian denominations. However, truth is truth, and that simple truth is present in several of the religions created by man. Many man-made religions have implied an exclusive bias in their special relationship to God. Often the appeal is to fulfill in its members the need to be members of the club. However, as far as we are aware, Christ did not state his message was for Hebrews, Muslims, Indians, Asians, Africans, or any other divisions we have created via physical and geological differences. So, the ideas discussed here, although coming from the viewpoint of the Christian religion, can be applied to most of man’s created religions.

    The problem with the simple truth is that at this time in our developing societies it will probably be branded as the ravings of an extremely naïve person, who is ignoring the egotistical traits of human beings. However, it is a fact that through our improvements in travel and communication, our planet is becoming increasingly smaller, and thereby, the distance between our individual societies is closing. Additionally, if we take the time out of our busy lives to think in terms of our concept of time, and we compare the age of our visible universe to our estimate of the presence of the human race on this planet, the time is not wasted. For example, if you take 50 humans each living 100 years consecutively, and look back to the date the first human of the 50 was born, we would be in the year 3000 BC. Fifty humans might fill a small to medium room.

    The rapid development that has occurred since 3000 B.C., and the metaphorical shrinking of our planet illustrate that we are in our infancy, if not in our fetal stage. The simple truth given to us by Christ through his life and teachings is all that the human race needs to survive and grow in the right direction. It seems that it is the right time to begin thinking seriously of the future of the human race.

    What is the simple TRUTH compared with the versions of truth that we have developed over generations of human history. The information discussed in the following text is the truth. It is not truth that is available only to this writer. It is within each of us. As stated above, many if not most of the readers of this document will brand it the ramblings of a naïve fool. Others, after reading further, may think that the contents exhibit an all too practical (non-mystical) approach to subjects that they have felt comfortable holding as sacred.

    In essence, the truth begins with our realization that, despite our physical differences, we are all members of one human species. We are inhabiting a beautiful planet existing in an eternal universe. If we are not confirmed atheists, we generally feel there is guidance for us from a superior intelligence. That feeling exists as a strong, common intuition that permeates we humans. That intuitive feeling is common. Common as well is the need to eliminate a fear of the superior intelligence. Therefore, we picture that superior intelligence as one of us. With rare exceptions, humans have given that superior intelligence names that differ between religious societies. Overall, it identifies our common need to believe that someone we do not understand is there to define a purpose for our existence. If we are like the animals seeking only survival, why would we even consider a PURPOSE.

    The ideas that follow here are typed by a simple human being, but authored by the higher authority available to all of us if we would simply drop our egos for enough time to listen. The
