She graduated with distinction in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and obtained a MFA in Documentary Filmmaking, Columbia College, Chicago. She has worked various jobs ranging from secretarial and sales jobs to producing training videos and working with the profoundly disabled.
