About this ebook

It is quite alarming and overwhelming the rate at which many, even the so-called Christians and non-Christians of this generation, are wallowing in sin in spite of one’s decision to let go of sin. In fact, all effort of prayer, fasting, and abstinence to keep away from sin seems not to be working.

One thing, however, is that once one fails to understand the nature of sin—the working power of sin in one’s life—it will be very difficult to break from it. Hence, Exposing the Secrets of Sin is a book that has been written in-depth and inspired by the Holy Spirit to expose the secrets of sins and its effects on humans.

This is because sin has become a yoke, sting, cankerworm, burden, and spirit that if one fails to understand its nature (activities and effects), one might remain in sin forever. This book is therefore God’s gift to you in all matter relating to sin, which has been eating deep into your soul. Why not take your time, read, digest, and apply the words of this book to your life and see yourself overcoming the power and spirit of sin in your life.

    INTRODUCTION

From the first book and the very first chapter (chapter one) of the Bible (Genesis), we were made to understand the formation and creation of Heavens, Earth, and every other creatures the world had ever known. How wonderful and beautiful they were created by God. And God having seen what He had created said they were good. (Genesis 1:10). Hence, starting from the first day of creation to the last day of creation, everything was perfectly created by God.

Having seen the splendid and marvelous handiwork of creature of God, it deemed necessary to make an image in God’s likeness to have dominion over all what He had created. Hence a spirit being Made After Nature (Man) was deemed fit for this task, hence, man for the first time was created by God the Father, Son and Spirit. As it is written And God said, let ‘Us’ make man in our own image (Gen 1:26). Us here connotes God in trinity –God the Father, The Son (Jesus) & Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7).

Note: Man means - Made – After - Nature

As a matter of fact, the beginning of God’s creations was splendid according to the Bible; hence God was able to take a day rest-off for the wonderful work He had done, having completed the work of creation for six days, man inclusive. It then pleases God to joy and glory in the things He had created, thus King David wrote in his book, Psalm 19:1 that The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth his handiwork. So God created man in His own image according to Gen. 1:27, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over every living thing that He had created. (Gen. 1:27)

Both Adam and Eve were living peacefully and comfortably in the garden (east ward in Eden) God had placed them. A garden full of every tree that are pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life (in the middle of the garden), the tree of knowledge of good and evil and a river parted into four directions: Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel and Euphrates, all for the comfort and survival of mankind.

While in the garden, between a tree of life and a tree of knowledge of good and evil man was forced, deceived and convinced by a strange enemy in the image of snake known to be Satan to eat a tree that had been forewarned by God not to be eaten; in the course of this, something happened; something strange, spiritual happened to the spiritual being of man, in spite of God’s blessing to them. What was this thing? It was Sin; which is simple term means Satanic In Nature.

This sin in question came in-between God and man thereby separating man from God and took the blessing of dominion from man and as a result, rendered man naked, powerless and empty spiritually before God. You will agree with me that, the blessing of fruitfulness, multiplication, replenishing and subduing are still applicable to man till today, but that of dominion is what Satan has taken away through SIN. No wonder the Bible says in the book of 1 John 3:8 that he that committed sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning this sin in question, accounts for what the world and man has become today, thus Psalm 82:5 declares … All the foundation of the earth are out of course and every imagination of the thoughts of man and the world at large was only evil continually i.e. on a daily basis. And God seeing the wickedness of man as very great on earth, hence it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at heart (Gen. 6:5-6).

The spirit of SIN; what can be more grievous & evil than this?

Will it interest you to know that the sparing of Noah and his family during the time of flood; the calling out of Abraham from his father’s land to an unknown land; the introduction of the Ten commandment, doctrine, tenants; the settling aside of the priests, prophets, judges, kings; the calling out of the disciples; and the forming of the body of Christ i.e. the church, were purposely for the eradication of SIN from this world? Even the Bible confirmed it that Jesus also came to this earth purposely to destroy this sin in question? (1 John 3:8)

What is this ‘Sin’ to you? Are you able to attach any serious meaning to it? Whether you do or not, this sin in question is very real and dangerous. In fact, it is capable of jeopardizing your soul in Hell if you are unable to curb it now.

However, for you to have an in-depth understanding of sin, its origin, meaning, types, form, kind, consequences and how to live your life without sin is the major purpose this book has been inspirationally written for your use. Why not take your time, relax and read through this booklet to find a real answer to Sin.

Remember, what is sin to you might not really be sin. And what you don’t count to be sin might end up causing great harm to you. James 4:17 says therefore To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is Sin.

In another development, if there are six spiritual things that are affecting the world today both positively and negatively are God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Satan, Evil spirits and Death.

However, God, Jesus and Holy Spirit are those affecting the world positively in the sense that, they are doing their best to put everything in place spiritually and physically and in making sure that man is reconcile back to his creator in order to enjoy the intended life God planned for him.

On the contrary, Satan, Evil spirits and Death are those affecting the world negatively; they are working so hard spiritually and physically to also make sure that man in being cut off from God’s intended plan for his life as a result end man’s life in Hell together with them. In fact, they are doing all they could do negatively to frustrate the plan of God, Jesus and Holy Spirit in man. And the only factor that is enhancing this plan is nothing but SIN.

God – Jesus – Holy Spirit (SIN) Satan – Evil spirit - Death

With this understanding of the explanation above, one should be able to come to the knowledge of what God’s plans are for man in order to be set free from the bondage of this sin in question.

    CHAPTER ONE

    ORIGIN OF SIN

The origin of sin is a mystery, and must forever remain such to us. It is plain that for some reason God has permitted sin to enter this world, and that is all we know. His permitting it, however, in no way makes God the author of sin, although He is the creator of all things and He knows the end of thing from its beginning. Who then can be regarded as the originator of sin?

While you read through the book of Isaiah 14:12-15 you will come across an epic history of a once Angel of God referred to as Lucifer how he was fought out from heaven due to a strange character he exhibited among the sons of God (Angels in heaven), hence one cannot but conclude that Sin started in Heaven in which Satan was the originator. According to 1 John 3:8; the words of God says and I quote …. For the devil (i.e. Satan) sinneth from the beginning. Adding to this fact is what was written in the book of Isaiah 14:12-15 and Revelation 12:6-8. The above Bible scriptures explained in detail how ‘pride’ engrossed Satan i.e. Lucifer, the son of the morning as he was rightly called, which made him to rebelled against God through a conspiracy he orchestrated and coordinated with one third of the Angels in heaven. As a result, he was eventually cast down from heaven to the ground (i.e. earth). The verse 13 & 14 of the book of Isaiah reads for thou hath said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most High.

However, Satan otherwisely called the great dragon, the Devil, the old serpent, the accuser was brought down to the earth through a battle contest between him (i.e. satan), the Archangels, headed by Michael and satan prevailed not. As a result of the defeat and shame he received in heaven, decided to make the earth ungovernable for mankind. Hence, he introduced the same sin to the first creation of mankind, Adam and Eve through a serpent (Genesis 3:3) thereby denying the intended life God wished and planned for man.

Having said this, if there is anything older next to the words of God that brought about the creation of heaven and earth and those creatures that dwelleth in them, it would be SIN. This is because, hardly had God put Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden with an instruction not to eat from the very tree in the middle of the garden i.e. the tree of knowledge of good and evil, than man for the first time introduced what is known today as SIN into the earth. How?

Man’s failure to adhere to God simple instruction led to the introduction of sin into the world and the entire humanity at large till today. According to the book of Genesis 3:6, the Bible says: "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat – A disobedient act that led to introduction of sin in the world.

From the foregoing, Adam and Eve brought Sin into this world and the remaining descendant that comes through and after them. But this does not however done without the very traitor – the serpent. Although, in the rare sense, satan was the very traitor that used serpent to deceive human as against God’s instruction to them. Since he cannot manifest in the physical realm, he was able to manifest in the serpent to carry out his mission.

Will it interest you to know that SIN has been in existence from the very 3rd chapter of the very first book of the Bible?

Note: Out of the 1187 chapters of the Bible. And after the 1st and 2nd chapters have been dedicated for God’s creation, it was from third chapter of the bible that Sin began to reign.

This goes to say that, after God had created all things for His pleasure and for man’s enjoyment on earth with ease; than satan with his subtlety, crew in in-between God and Man relationship and put a separation between them with the help of sin. In fact, man had hardly enjoy God’s intended life for him than sin came into man’s life and man came short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) This glory in question are: joy, happiness, peace, authority of ease, dominion, peace of mind, love, eternal life, fellowship, grace, communication, mercy, God’ presence etc.

The fact is, from the beginning of creation, sin has been a yoke, cankerworm, burden and spirit in the life of humanity. But the questions are:

o Will it ever leaves man?

o Will man ever come back to God again?

o What has been done or put in place to eradicate this sin?

    1. WILL IT EVER LEAVES MAN?

This is a question not to be answered in a hurry. This is because, the second time SIN will appear again in the Bible was the chapter four i.e. the next chapter to the 3rd chapter earlier mentioned before of the same book of Genesis. In fact, the Bible confirmed it in verse seven of the book of Genesis Chapter 4 that … Sin lieth at the door of Cain. The same Cain was the first child of Adam and Eve, the first to commit a sin against God. The same sin entered into the life of this first born and lured him to kill his younger brother Abel. The blood of sin or otherwise say "the spirit of sin, will it ever leave man?

As a matter of biblical reference, sin continues to live in man till a time God was grieved at the wickedness sin has brought into the world according to Genesis 6:5-6.

Notwithstanding however, the first 10th generation of mankind i.e. from Adam to Noah (1 Chronicle 1:1-4) were wiped out from the surface of the earth through a forty days and nights rain leaving only Noah and the rest of his seven members of his family; his wife, three sons and wives. This was done in order to wipe out sin. Hence, a new generation of mankind began with Noah and his family. According to Genesis 6:8, the Bible says "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord; hence he and the rest of his family were exempted from the destruction that came to mankind. This should have been the end of sin, if you asked me. But was it the end of sin? The answer is NO!

After the flood, ‘sin’ again found its ways into the family of Noah and it beginning to live with them. As it was written in Genesis 6:1-12 that the earth also (i.e. still) was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And in verse 13 of the chapter 6 of the book of Genesis, God says … The end of all flesh (i.e. Human and animal) is come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them, and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth."

While this was going on, God had made a covenant with Noah never to destroy the earth with flood again. (Genesis 9:11) God decided to look for another means to eradicate sin from the surface of the earth. He then took Abraham another 10th generation from Noah (1 Chronicles 1:4-6) out from his family and kindred
