Introduction

Life is a journey full of adventures, with its peaks and valleys, twists and turns, bumps and curves.

Life: the amazement, and excitement of conception; the joy and wonder of birth; the laughter, giggles and cooing upon the discovery of toes-to-mouth during infancy; the sweet, wide-eyed innocence of childhood; and those awkward years of puberty!

Sandwiched within generational growth are those exciting, sometimes challenging experiences: waking up on Christmas morning! Learning to count to fifty! Reciting the Lord’s Prayer without missing a word! Playing hopscotch, and running around the mulberry bush; eating peanut butter and gooey mayonnaise sandwiches; playing jackstones and marbles and makeshift baseball; then those teenage molding years of discovery! Pretty flirty girls and grotesquely cute boys… Life: quite interesting!

Life’s journey continues with the maturing young adult’s aspirations and quests for achievement: buying your first car; obtaining that revered college degree; landing that perfect career with the promise of promotion… and travel! Socializing with friends, and the joy of discovering true love…. then marriage; buying your first home; motherhood… fatherhood… family togetherness… church… vacations… and grand parenting! Quite a dream, quite an adventure, quite a journey, this thing called life.

Also along life’s journey is the reality of living, with its staunch contrasts in navigating through the highs and lows… living and dying; happiness and sadness; peace and confusion; laughter and tears; pain and healing; frustrations, anger, disappointing let downs… these varied emotional experiences all intermingled with living, growing, maturing, and aging.

WHEN MORNING COMES will walk you through some of these experiences, some wonderfully sweet, others realistically painful… but all pointing to the glorious promise of Daybreak! Hope! The Dawning Of A New Day!
