CHAPTER 1
WHO IS ROSELLEN MCDAVID?
Rosellen Chase-McDavid is a retired human service worker whose life has touched several lives. She has signed up thousands and thousands of people for voter registration in Baltimore, Maryland from 1990 to 2002. Some people gave her the name of ‘Moses’ because she led people to the voter poles. She is very passionate about voting, and realizes how important it is for all citizens to exercise their right to vote. Rosellen believes all United States citizens should participate in voting, so they can choose the best leaders for the United States of America. Throughout the years, Rosellen has informed the young and elderly about American political affiliations, and their rights as voters. Some of the citizens of Baltimore were uninformed about the different party affiliations until they met Mrs. McDavid. She has networked with many mayors, governors, councilmen, senators, and other political officials to get laws passed, and people registered. She was an assistant organizer of three major marches in Washington DC. The first march was Save Our Cities
, the second was Save Our Cities, Save Our Children
, and the last was the Million Man March.
While working at the community hub in Baltimore City, she provided service for free tax returns, housing assistance, and utility assistance.
